Unit9 Can you come to my party?教学设计 第一课时 SectionA(1a-2c)I. 教学目标1. 知识技能(1) Master new words and expressions: prepare, prepare for, exam, flu, available.(2) Learn the new pattern to make invitations.(3) Learn the new pattern to accept or refuse an invitation.2.过程与方法By listening and group-work, students will learn how to use “can” to make invitations and how to accept or refuse the invitation.3.情感、态度与价值观Cultivating students habits of politeness.II. 教学重难点1. 教学重点(1) Key vocabulary in this period(2) Target language:-Can you come to my party ?-Sure, Id love / like to.-Sorry, I cant . I have to .2. 教学难点Let students learn how to make, accept and refuse an invitation politely.III.学情分析本单元的主题是发出邀请,接受和委婉地拒绝邀请,围绕这一话题进行一系列交际活动,是学生熟练掌握重点句型“Can you come to my party?”的运用以及学会有礼貌地接受和拒绝邀请。在此之前,学生已掌握can, have to 等的用法,所以,这些对学生来说并不难,比较容易掌握。IV.教学方法Employ task-based teaching mode, and get the students to learn basic sentence patterns by listening and practicing.V. 教学过程Step1 Lead-in1. Play a game: there are four pieces of music.As soon as the teacher starts to play one of them, students pass the apple or chocolate one by one.When the music stops, the student who gets the apple has to open one envelope and then finishes the corresponding task in each envelope.Round 1: Answer the question: What do you usually do on weekends? (Music: Baby)Round 2: Sing the song ” We Wish You a Merry Christmas”. ( Music: We Wish You a Merry Christmas)Round 3: Lucky box: The apple is yours now! ( Music: Apple round, Apply red)Round 4: Answer the question: Do you want to have a Christmas party with your classmates? ( Music: Sugar)2. T: Christmas is coming. We will have a Christmas party in our class. The group which performs best will be the host of the party and the owner of the chocolate! To be the winner for today, you have to finish three tasks: phrases and sentences, listening and oral practice.Purpose:To stimulate students interests in this class and attract students attention by playing the music.(利用酷狗音乐铃声制作软件将四首流行歌曲分别截取其中的一小段进行播放,运用PPT超链接功能将四个信封超链接到四个任务。)Step2 Presentation1. New phrases.Lead in different verb phrases: prepare for an exam, help my parents, have the flu, meet my friend, go to the doctor,etc.Play a guessing game:The teacher shows several pictures on the screen, and ask students to say the phrases as quickly as they can. Purpose:This activity provides a brain storm to arouse studentsinterests about learning new phrases.2. Sentence structures( Present the QQ and phone records) T: When we offer an invitation to someone, we can say:“Can you come to my party?”. If he/she accepts the invitation, he/she will say:“Sure, Id love to.” If refusing the invitation, he/she will say: “Im sorry, I have to”.(1). Read the expressions to the class and ask the students to repeat.(2). Pair work: students practice the target languages in their groups.(3). Show the students some pictures, invite some of them to make short conversations according to the pictures using the target language.Purpose:Using QQ and phone records to present the key sentences can connect students life better, in order to develop their interests on English learning.Step3 Listening1. Before-listening: Lead students to read the instuctions and the statements to know what to do in this activity and how to do it.2. While-listening: Task 1: Listen and mark who can come to the party and who cant. Task 2: Find out who cant come to the party: Jeff, May and Mei Ling. Then listen again and write down the reasons why these students cant come to the party. 3. After-listening: Work with the students together: make a brief report about who can come to the party, who cant and why.Purpose:This activity helps students train their listening skills by before-listening, while-listening and after-listening.Step4 Groupwork1. Ask students to work in groups, and use the stopwatch(计时器) in the PPT to set a certain time when each group is making a conversation according to the information on the screen. All the students have to stop discussing as soon as the stopwatch stops.2. Then ask some groups to role-play their conversations. The group who presents their conversation well will get 3 scores.Purpose:1. To improve students oral skills.2. To develop students spirits of teamwork and independent thinking.3. To make students learn in practicing and practice in learning.Step5 Summary1. Select the group which performs best for today, and give them the gift. In the meantime, encourage other groups to work harder and perform better next time.2. Summarize how to make and answer invitations and the usages of “can” ,“have to” by using a mind map.Purpose:1. To consolidate what they have learned today.2. To encourage students to perform
