Why?Ss: tigers, lions, spiders, crocodiles, snakesBecause they look scary.Present the words “snake” and “scary”, review the two words.Let students do a little quiz about snakes to let them prepare well for the text reading.Use some questions to inspire students interest to read the article.Did you meet a snake before? What should we do if we meet a snake outside? Lisa met a snake in India on her weekend.Do you want to know what happened?Step task 1 (fast reading)Let students read the article fast in 2 minutes and let them answer three questions:Q1. How was Lisas weekend?Q2. Where did Lisa and her family go last weekend?Q3. What lesson did Lisa learn from the weekend?Promote students ability of fast readingStep task 2 (careful reading)Let students read the article carefully from beginning to end and answer these questions:Q1: When did Lisas sister finish high school?Q2: What did they do first when they got there?Q3 : What did they do on the first night?Q4:Why did they get a terrible surprise?Q5: How did Lisa feel when she saw the snake?Q6:What did Lisa and her sister do?Q7:What did Lisas father do?Q8: What did the snake do?While answering these questions, let students learn some important words.Step Task3 useful expressions Let students underline these useful expressions in their books and try to remember them in 1 minute.Step Task 4 retell the story 1. Draw a mind mapping for students on the blackboard to make clear of the structure of the article.2. Let students try to retell the story according to the mind mapping on the blackboard.Step Task 5 practical use Role Play: TV reportLet three students play Lisa, Lisas sister and their father.Other students play reporters, ask the three people some questions about their trip to India.step Task 6 Free TalkWhat lesson can we learn from Lisas story?Let students talk freely.Give them some emotion education.Step homework1.
