Teaching ProceduresTeacher s activities Ss activities Purposes Step 1 Warming up Greet with Ss. Ask Ss some questions like:Who is the best actor/athlete/singer you know?Who is the most boring TV show you watch?What is the most delicious food you eat?What is the most interesting book you read?Who is the most creative person you know?Ss answer the questions quickly. Then Ss ask and answer questions freely like this.Revise the superlatives with the Ss and try to get Ss to get into this class.Its good to get ready to learn new word.Step 2 PresentationShow a picture of Liu Qian. Present the new words.T: Liu Qian is a great magician. He is good at magic. (present “magic-magician”) I think he is the most creative magician I know. Because He always creates some new different kinds of magic. And I think he is the most talented magician in China. Hes got talent in the magic show. (present “taklent-talented”)Ss listen and learn the new words.To present the key words and new sentences and help Ss learn them.Step 3 Pair workAsk Ss do pair work like this:A: Who is the most talented person you know? B: I think is the most talented person. A: What can he/ she do? B: He /She Ss ask and answer in pairs.Some pairs share their preferences.Help Ss to consolidate the new words and sentences.Step 4 Presentation1. T: More and more talented people join the different TV talent shows. What kinds talent show do you know?Show pictures of some different TV talent shows. Play “Britains Got Talent” and Chinas Talent Show”.T: All kinds of people can join these shows.And all the shows have one thing in common.Let Ss say it.2. T: Of all these talent shows in China, I like “Voice of China” best. And I always take the TV show seriously. Every Friday, I always sit in front of the TV set early and wait for it. (show a picture and play a song of theirs) I like them very much. I think they sing the most beautifully in the show. Who sings the best and whos the winner? It is up to you and them.(show a picture) They play a role in deciding the winner.Ss listen and learn the new words and phrases.Know some more talent shows of different countries. To present the key words and new sentences.Its good to learn them with the help of the pictures and videos.Step 5 ReadingTask1: Ask Ss to get into the article in 2b. Let them scan the article and find out the question: What three talent shows are mentioned?Task2: Ask Ss to read Paragragh1, and find the question: How are these talent shows getting now? Then ask Ss to read Paragragh2, and find the questions: What do talent shows have in common? Who decides the winners? Next ask Ss to read Paragragh3,and find the questions: Why do some people not like these shows?Why do some people like these shows?Task3: Explain some useful and new expressions.Task4: Play the multimedia. Ask Ss to listen and repeat.Task5: Get Ss to underline the superlatives in the article.1. Ss scan it and answer the question.2. Ss read Paragragh1, Paragragh2 and Paragragh3, And tell the answers.3. Ss learn some useful expressions.4. Ss listen and repeat the article.5. Ss read and underline the superlatives in it.To personalize and prepare Ss for the subsequent reading activity. To provide reading practice with the target language.To encourage Ss to face their dreams and try to come true.And help Ss to practice the sentence structure and consolidate the knowledge.Step 6 CompetitionDivide Ss into four groups. Show “SHOW”. Tell them every letter has a task that they need to do it, every task has different scores.Task1: True or FalseTask2: Translate the phrases and the sentences.Task3: Write sentences using the superlatives. Task4: Fill in the blanks. T: Are you ready?
