Unit 4 Dont eat in class.The Fourth Period (Section B, 2a2c)Teaching aims (教学目标)1. 能用所学知识阅读文章。2. 能理解文章内容,回答问题。3. 掌握can,cant,have to, must的用法。4. 能够用目标语言表述自己的家规校规并对其评价。Language points (语言点)1. 词汇:1) 名词n. kitchen, luck, hair 2) 形容词 adj. dirty, more, noisy, terrible, strict 3) 动词 v. relax, read, feel, remember, follow, keep, learn 4)短语 make ones bed, be strict with sb, follow the rules2. 句型:We have to follow the rules.Can you help me?Im not happy because Difficulties (教学难点)1. 理解文章内容,正确回答问题。2. 用所学知识写出完整的文章。Teaching steps (教学步骤)Step 1. Warm-up and revision(课堂热身和复习)What are the rules in your home?Do you like these rules?Let students talk about their family rules in groups, and then report.Sample:I have many rules in my family. I have to do my home-work after school. I cant watch TV on school nights.Step 2. Main wordsStep 3. Work on 2aWhen you are unhappy about something, who do you like to talk to?T: Molly has some troubles, and she wrote a letter to Dr. Know.Step 4. Presentation (呈现新知识)(1) Work on 2b. 1. 通读全文,掌握文章的大意。2. 题目要求我们寻找有关Molly在家庭及在学校里的规则。表达规则的句子常为祈使句、或含有must及have的句子。3. 读短文寻找这种类型的句子。根据句意确定是否是她的规则。4. 最后, 再读一遍课文, 检查一下答案的正确性。Read the letter from Molly and answer the following questions. 1. Is Molly Brown happy? Why or why not?2. When does she have to get up every morning?3. Can she play basketball after school? Why?4. Can she watch TV after dinner?5. When does she have to go to bed?6. Can she leave the dirty dishes in the kitchen?7. Why she have to run to school?8. Does she have any fun?(2) Read the letter from Molly again. Underline the rules for Molly.(3) Read the letter from Dr. Know. Underline the things Molly can do. (4) Discussion: If youre Dr. Know, what suggestions (建议, 意见) would you like to give Molly Brown?(5) Work on 2c. Read the letters again and complete the sentences with have to/must, can or cant.Step 5. Language points:1. too many 修饰可数名词 too much 用来修饰不可数名词。如: He has too many friends to meet. 他有很多朋友要见。如: We have too much work to do. 我们有许多工作要做2. make the bed/make ones bed 整理床铺e.g. Bob always makes his bed himself. 鲍勃总是自己整理床铺。 Can you make the bed? 你会整理床铺吗?3. leave的用法 离开He leaves home early every day. 每天他早早地离开家。He left Beijing yesterday. 昨天他离开北京。把某物遗忘在某地”。A: Im sorry I left my exercise book at home this morning. 对不起,今天早上我把我的练习本忘在家里了。B: It doesnt matter. Dont forget to bring it here this afternoon.没关系。今天下午不要忘了把它带过来.Leave “留下,落下”,常与表示地点的介词短语连用,表示“把某物忘在某地”。其过去式为left。 I left my pen in the bedroom. 我把钢笔落在卧室了。Please leave the book on your desk.请把书留在你们的课桌上。4. At school,we have more rulesdont be noisy,dont eat in class,. 在学校,我们有更多的规则不许喧哗,不要在课堂上吃东西 1)more“更多的”此处是many的比较级,修饰可数名词复数形式。它也是much的比较级, 可修饰不可数名词。 She has more books than I她的书比我的多。 2)We cant be noisy in class. 我们不能在教室里大吵大闹。noisy形容词,意为“吵闹的,嘈杂的”其反义词为quiet “安静的”。5. After dinner,I cant relax either. 晚饭后,我也不能放松。relax v. 放松,休 Just relax and enjoy the movie. 休息休息,看看电影吧。eg: Playing games always relaxes me.玩游戏总是使我放松。This film is very relaxing.这部电影很令人放松。He is relaxed after taking a vacation.度假后,他感到轻松。6. After dinner, I cant relax either. 晚饭后我也不能轻松。副词either表示“也”,用于否定句句末,用法与表示肯定或陈述的副词too相似,可用逗号与语句的主题隔开。e.g. You like English. I like it, too.你喜欢英语,我也喜欢。 My father cant speak English.我爸不会讲英语, My mother cant (speak it), either. 我妈也不会。7. Terrible形容词“非常讨厌的;可怕的” terrible“很糟的,极差的”可用作定语或表语eg: Do you know the terrible news?你知道那则骇人听闻的新闻吗? It is terrible that she lost her purse.糟透了,她丢失了钱包。terribly为副词,意为“很;非常;很厉害地eg: I am terribly sorry for that.我对那件事非常抱歉。 She suffered terribly when her son was killed.她儿子被杀之后,她遭受了极大的痛苦。8. Parents and schools are sometimes strict, but remember, they make rules to help us.父母和学校有时是严格的,但是要记住,他们制订规则是为了帮助我们。1)Strict 形容词“严格的,严厉的”作表语、定语 She is a strict teacher.她是一个严格的老师。 2)be strict with sb.对某人要求严格; My English teacher is always strict with us。我的英语老师总是对我们要求严格。3)be strict in sth. 对某事要求严格 Our teacher is strict in his work.我们的老师对他的工作要求严格。9.辨析remember to do sth.与 remember doing sth.10.follow动词“遵循,遵守”follow the rules遵守规则 We should follow the traffic rules.我们应该遵守交通规则。 跟随,跟着 Please follow me. Ill show you the way.请跟我走,我来给你带路。明白,领悟(understand) You are speaking too fast and we cant quite follow you.你讲得太快,我们不太懂你的意思。沿而行 follow the road 沿路而行following形容词“下列的,接下来的” Can you answer the following questions? 你能回答下列问题吗?11. luck为不可数名词,意为“幸运;运气”。good luck (to sb.)表示“祝(某人)好运”,bad luck意为“倒霉”。She had no luck finding a job.她很不幸,找不到工作。I wish you good luck!Good luck to you! 祝你好运!A: Im going to enter an English speaking competition tomorrow.B: Good luck!对方明天要去参加英语演讲比赛,应祝对方好运点拨:本题用交际法。good luck好运;have a nice trip旅途愉快;no problem没问题;congratulations祝贺。lucky 形容词“幸运的, 吉祥的, 侥幸的 eg: He is a lucky dog.他是个幸运的家伙。luckily 副词,“幸运地,幸亏,侥幸”。 eg: Luckily there was a doctor on the spot.幸运的是现场有一位医生。12. There are a lot of things you can do.有许多你可以做的事情。此句中a lot of things you can do是一个名词短语,句子you can do起着修饰,限定名词things的作用。英语中当句子限定修饰名词时要放在该名词之后。e.g. There are a lot of songs you can
