Knowledge goals:New words: hair, curly, short, straight, height, tall, medium, thin, heavy, buildTarget language: - What does he/she look like?-He/She is tall and has long hair. - What do you look like? -Im thin.2. Ability goals: Students can guess or judge person by some description of their features, and they can also use the knowledges we learned flexible in our daily life.3. Emotion goals:Let students discover other peoples advantages, learn to understand and respect others, and dont judge a person by his looks.Teaching important points:New words and the target languageTeaching difficult points:To use has and is exactly; Master how to describe peoples appearance.Teaching procedures:Step1. GreetingsStep2. Leading-in Ask students a question of whether they know the man on the screen, and encourage students to try to describe his looks.Step3. Presentation1. New words2. Describe ones hair.T: There are some pictures on the screen, maybe you know some of them. Ok! Look at the first one, TFBOYS, they all have short hair, long hair, straight hair, curly hair, bald/b: ld/.A: What does he/she look like?B: He/She hashair.Now, if we put the color, short or long and straight or curly together, how to describe. Then shows some pictures, and make a short summary(描述头发:主语+have/has+长短+曲直+颜色+hair)Later, show another two pictures and ask students to describe their hair.3. Describe ones height.The teacher uses some pictures and show how to describe ones height, make a summary(描述身高:主语+be+ tall/short/of medium height).4. Describe ones build.The teacher shows three pictures of Journey to the West, tell students how to describe ones build in English. Make a summary as follows (描述体型:主语+be + heavy/thin/of medium build).5. Divide the whole class into two parts, one group asks and the other answers.A: What does he look like?B: He is tall/short/of medium height.Exchange the roles and make dialogues.A: What does he look like?B: He is heavy/thin/ of medium build.6. PairworkThe teacher shows some groups of pictures, ask students to work in pairs and make dialogues as follows. - What does she look like? - She is and she has. - What does he look like? - He is and he has.7. Ask students to do 1a, then check the answers.Step4. Listening1.Ask students to listen to the tape, do 1b, fill in the blanks in the picture. Later, check the answers.2. Ask students to listen again and fill in the blanks on the screen, finally check the answers.Step5. Guessing gameAsk one student to describe one of our classmates and others guess who he or she is.Step6. SummaryTo distinguish be and have/has.Have/has+hair. is/am/are+build/heightStep7.
