The circulation adds energy to the marine ecosystems and moves nutrients around.III 教材分析与教材重组1教材分析本单元以Water Planet“水的星球”为话题, 但课文主要谈论的是 The water on the planet where the human beings live,“星球(地球)的水”。通过本单元教学,学生利用所学英语知识,同时联系其他学科所学知识,了解水的特性、化学结构,还了解海水(咸水)的盐度、密度、热容度以及大洋的运动等科学知识。通过本单元的学习,学生不仅可以了解到英语(科技)说明文的特点和写作手法,还可以体会到英语的实用价值,从而激发学生学习英语的兴趣。在学习过程中,应通过给学生布置“任务”,如查阅书籍、上网搜索、小组合作来开发学习资源,拓展主题内容,加深相关题材学习。教师可提前指导学生利用挑好的部分网站辅助学习。1.1 WARMING UP 通过几个试验来让学生观察并了解水和其他一些物品放在一起时的一些现象和变化,并通过问题引导学生了解水的特性和重要性。同时还使学生联想所学过的关于地球水污染和保护的知识话题。此“热身”活动不仅可练习学生的动手、观察和英文表达能力,也为READING的学习做好铺垫。1.2 LISTENING 是一首关于海洋中的生命的英文诗歌,讲述航海探险中的一个故事,使学生了解人类和海洋的关系。1.3 SPEAKING 是学生“双人”交际活动。要求同学阅读几幅描述人类如何使用水的图画,每组同学选择其中一幅,利用所提供问题或自己设计的问题,讨论使用和保护水的重要性。1.4 PRE-READING 是READING的热身活动。目的在于练习学生根据主题设计内容和问题的能力,是阅读和写作的基本技能。要求学生不阅读课文,只看各段的标题,挑出各段的主题并用所给出的结构提出六个问题,然后与同伴或同组的同学回答这些问题,写下答案和各人所知的关于各话题的知识。这也是利用其他学科如化学、生物等进行学科整合学习型的活动,利于调动学生的积极性和运用其知识储备解决问题。1.5 READING 是一篇科普说明文,介绍的是水这种物质主要是海水的特征和属性。包括水对生命的产生和发展的重要性、化学结构,还有海水(咸水)的盐度、密度、热容度以及大洋的运动等科学知识。1.6 POST-READING 的第一个问题是PRE-READING问题的延续,检验学生的预测和判断力以及对主题的延伸思考。第二题是填表题,要求学生根据课文填空,联系把握文章的具体细节信息的能力。1.7 LANGUAGE STUDY 分词汇和语法两部分。WORD STUDY的第一部分要求学生把打乱顺序的字母组合成本单元涉及的单词;第二部分要求学生根据每句话所给的首字母填出合适的单词。词汇练习是帮助学生掌握本单元的重点难记的词汇和用法。GRAMMAR是对“情态动词”内容的复习。第一部分要求学生选择最佳选项,以练习学生对基本情态动词的理解和运用,还有对意义相近的情态动词用法的辨析使用的练习。第二部分要求用正确的情态动词填空,并根据所给短文设计了两个思考题供练习。1.8 INTEGRATING SKILLS 中的READING和WRITING是本单元内容的拓展和综合。READING介绍的是被称为“自然生命的保育院”的河流入海口。课文以“若说海洋是地球的生命之源,那么河口就是地球生命的保育院。”引出话题,介绍河口作为陆地河流进入海洋的海陆过渡区的特性,对生物生长、城市的形成、人类的娱乐生息的重要性。WRITING 则是根据本单元所设计的科学知识,在学生回答出教材提问题的基础之上,要求学生用书面形式回答,利用学生对自然科学的知识和本单元所学内容,写成介绍性的短文。2 教材重组2.1根据语言训练目标,把VOCABULARY和Workbook中Practising的Vocabulary整合在一起,构成“词汇学习”模块;LISTENING和Workbook中的LISTENING部分整合在一起,构成“听说训练”模块,整堂课设计成一堂“词汇学习+听说课”,也为进一步学习和训练做好铺垫。2.2 根据本单元话题内容和训练目标,把 SPEAKING和 Workbook中的TALKING整合在一起,设计成一堂任务型“口语课”。2.3 WARMING UP的内容与阅读课文相关,可设计为阅读的导入内容。PRE-READING, READING和POST-READING 作为一个完整的阅读的过程,训练必要的阅读技能,学习处理重要语言点。四部分结合在一起设计为一堂“阅读课”。2.4 INTEGRATING SKILLS I 和INTEGRATING SKILLS II各自都包括LISTENING,READING和Comprehension questions,可结合起来训练学生的快速阅读技能、信息处理能力和口语表达能力,因此设计为一堂“阅读综合技能课”。2.5 GRAMMAR 是对“情态动词”的复习。把这部分和WORKBOOK的相关练习结合起来,设计为一堂“语法课”。2.6 INTEGRATING SKILLS I 和INTEGRATING SKILLS II中各自包括的WRITING部分,可以根据阅读范文和所给题材与要求,任选其一训练理解与书面表达,因而设计为一堂“写作技能课”。同时如情况允许,可利用教材Workbook所提供的PROJECT,结合相关科学学科和互联网资源进行,指导学生拓展本单元话题。3课型设计与课时分配1st Period Vocabulary& Listening 2nd Period Speaking3rd Period Warming up & Reading4th Period Reading:Integrating skills I& II 5th Period Grammar6th Period Writing . 分课时教案The First Period Vocabulary & ListeningTeaching goals 教学目标1. Learning ability goals 学能目标Through vocabulary learning and listening activities, students will learn how to memorize and understand words and talk about a specific topic related to the everyday life by using Modal Verbs, some patterns and expressions. Teaching important points 教学重点Teach some word formation, learn and use the communicative expressions and patterns to talk about the listening topic.Teaching difficult points 教学难点Use word-making methods to memorize new words and practise listening and speaking. Teaching methods 教学方法a. Class and individual work to do the word formation and memorization and make necessary note. b. Listen to the tape and have the students give answers (class and individuals).Teaching aids 教具准备A tape-recorder, a projector and a computer. Teaching procedures & ways 教学过程与方式Step 1 Vocabulary T: Today, we will learn Unit 13 entitled Water Planet. By the way, how do you understand the title?Ss: It refers to the Earth we live in. It is said that in the solar system only earth has water and life till now.T: Quite good. You got it. Then we first learn about the new words and deal with the exercises about vocabulary. Please turn to vocabulary page. After finishing reading and correcting the students pronunciation, the teacher asks them to deal with the Exercise1-2 about Vocabulary in the Workbook, and Exercise1-2 Word study in LANGUAGE STUDY in the Textbook. The teacher and the students check the exercises together and point out some important points or structures. T: We have finished this vocabulary exercises. This will help students comprehend the listening passage and practice. T: We have learnt a lot of words. You can see among them there are many words about a special field, that is, sea and ocean. They are closely related to the topic of this unit. Can you think of more relative words?The teacher can draw a diagram on the blackboard as follows. Students are required to do the listening as a preview task, so in class they usually listen to it once, if necessary teacher should play the tape again for more details.T: Please read the questions of Part 1 and 2 on Page 18 and make sure of what you should do. Then write down answer to each question. minutes later. T: Now Ill play a second time and ask more questions. Please get prepared for the detailed questions.After listening to this part, check the answers and ask more questions about the details, and then explain some difficult points if necessary. Step IV Listening in the WorkbookThe students are required to deal with four types of exercises in this listening. T: Now lets go on to do another listening practice. Please turn to Page 95. Here we will listen to a lecture about scuba diving. Do you know scuba diving?Ss: No.
