Teaching procedures Step 1. Warming upShow the students some pictures of the Asian Olympic athletes this year. Get the students to know we should try to be the greatest that we can be whatever we do.Step2 Free talk: Which is the most popular?1.Talk about the best in China when they watch some pictures of Yangtse River, BeijingTry to use the superlatives.2.Get the students to talk about three fast-food restaurants in our city. Have a competition which team can get the most apples for their group trees.Step3 Brainstorm1. Teach the new words and compare the positive words and negative words.2. Get the Ss to add more superlatives. Have a competition among three groups. Which team can write down the most superlatives on the blackboard.3.Get the students to use the positive words to talk about their teachers like this: Our math teacher is the funniest person I know.Step4 listening1.Watch a talent show to show the new words of the listening material. Before listening, look at the pictures and talk about them. 2.Listen and match the pictures with the names. Listen again and fill in the chart in 2b . If necessary, let them listen for the third time.3.Make the students talk about the performances. Then retell the talent show.Step5.Groupwork: Whos Got Talent in our class?1.Show a video “Americas Got Talent”. Everyone is a performer in your life.
