Whats the weather like in Beijing? Its sunny.3. Modal objectives: To observe the weather and its changes. Develop students exploration spirit of nature. 4. Ability objectives: To describe the weather. To describe the thing which is happening. Learn to use the present progressive tense learned in Unit 6. Teaching importance and difficulties: Teaching steps: Step 1 Presentation1. (Show some pictures of the weather) Let Ss look at the pictures and ask them how the weather is. Ss learn the new words and expressions with the help of the pictures. 2. Look at the pictures in 1a. Then read the new words on the left. Ask the Ss to match the words with pictures. 1a Match the words with the pictures a-e. Check the answers. Keys: abecdStep 2 Listening and pair work(1b, 1c)1. Now lets look at the city names in the box in 1b. Please read after me. Ss read the cities after the teacher. 1b Listen and write these city names in the boxes above. Listen again and check the answers. Pair work in 1c. Ask and answer.Step 3 Listening and pair work (2a,2b,2c)1. Work on 2a. Deal with listening materials. Introduce the peoples names in each picture. And what are they doing? This boy is Jim. This girl is Linda. They are talking on the phone. She is Aunt Sally. What is she doing now? She is Mary, and what is she doing now? He is Jeff, and what is he doing now? The man is Uncle Joe. What is he doing?2. Play the recording for the Ss to listen and number the pictures 1-4. Check answers.
