What is the weather like ? 3、Consolidate the present progressive tense to talk about what people are doing.过程和方法: Learn to describe the weather and talk about what people are doing by oral and listening practice using the target language. 情感、态度和价值观: Get to know some culture knowledge about England.重点难点: 重点 1、Master the key words and sentences. 2、consolidate the present progressive tense to talk about what people are doing. 3、Be able to describe the weather. 难点 1、Consolidate the present progressive tense to talk about what people aer doing. 2、To talk about the weather教学准备: 多媒体教学设备:“班班通”(Class Access to ICT s) , PPT教学课件教学过程: Step Warm -up 1.Greeting as usual. 2.Revision. Check the homework Step Presentation 1.Lead-in.Let the students watch weather reporter on Class Access to ICT s. Then show the main tasks to the class on the screen .including new words ,training listening skill and key sentences. Introduce “Different countries have different culture.” So it is very important for us to be able to talk about the weather .2. learn the new words . 3.To consolidate the new words ,ask the students to march each word with each picture on Page 37 from our task books. 4.Listening part.5.Part 1c. Imagine you are in one of the places in 1a.Talk about the weather with your friend on the phone.A: Hi! Hows the weather in Beijing ?/ Whats the weather like in Beijing today ?B:Its sunny(while showing the picture on the screen by PPT course-ware ) .Ask the students to read them in order to remember them .Then show cloudy ,snowy , windy, rainy of pictures on the screen one by one to train the key sentences and remember the new words. For example:(Show the cloudy picture on the screen) Student A : Hi! Hows the weather in Shanghai ? Or Whats the weather like in Shanghai today ? Student B : Its cloudy.Step Practice1. Listening.(Activities 2a & 2b) Point to four pictures and ask “ What is the person doing in the picture ?” Have students work in pairs ask and answer. Ask six pairs to act the conversation out Picture 1 :A : What is the boy doing ? B: He is talking on the phone . Picture 2 :A : What is the woman doing ?B : She is cooking. Picture 3 :A : What is the girl doing ?B : She is making a phone call. Picture 4 A : What is the girl doing ?B : She is watching the news on TV. Picture 5A : What is the boy doing ? B: He is playing the computer games . Picture 6A : What is the man doing ? B: He is playing basketball . Play the recording and ask the students to listen and number the pictures .Then check the answers . Point out the list of names and the list of activities in 2b .Ask a student to read each list to the class.Play the recording again and have the students fill in the all answers. Later check them in class.2 .Pair-work (Activity 2c )First, lead the students to read through the example conversation in the speech bubble in 2c so that they can know about what to do and how to this activity. Then ,put students into pairs to practice making conversations about the people in 2a .Give them enough time to do it .As they ,move around the room checking the progress and offering language support as needed .Finally ,invite several pairs to act for the whole class .Step ConsolidationTeach Activity 2d First , give the students several minutes to read the conversation silently to get the main idea .Ask them to underline any difficult point at the same time .Then lead the students to read sentence together .Explain some language points at the same time : Hows it going ?动词go含义为“(事情)进展顺利,进行”。 Everything goes well. Sounds like youre having a good time .have a good time “玩的开心”,与之含义相近有“have a nice ” ,“enjoy oneself”.例句(略) Can I help take a message for him ?take a message “帮某人留言,留信息”还有 have a message , send message 例句(略)Sure ,no problem.no problem用法 , , , ,内容及例句见“班班通”大屏幕Step SummaryIn this period , weve learnt some new words about the weather and the names of some cities to describe the different weather in different cities .And weve also develop our listening and speaking skills
