Unit 9 what does he look like?Section A 1a-1cTeaching aims:Knowledge Objects:Key words: curly, straight, tall, medium, thin, heavy, build, heightKey sentence: What does he look like? Hes tall/of medium height/short. What does she look like? She is thin/of medium build/heavy. What does she look like? She has short /long/curly/straight hair.Ability objects: Students can use language goals to describe peoples look.Moral objects: 让学生学会友好,客观的描述人物形象。Teaching important points: Grasp the new words and target languages.Teaching difficult points: Students can use target languages to describe peoples hair, height and build. Teaching methods: 任务型语言教学法:设计多种任务活动,提供给学生合作交流的空间和时间,促使学生完成任务和同学进行合作,为完成进行探究学习(为用而学,在用中学,学了能用)。Teaching strategies:Section A 1a-1c共设计3个任务型活动。1a要求学生读后将所给描绘人物外表的词汇与相应图片配对:学习这些常用的描述人物外貌特征的词汇,为下面的训练提供语言材料。1b要求学生听录音并根据所获信息,将描述Amys friend外表的的词汇填在相应的横线上。1c要求学生在教师的指导下,以Pair work的形式口头练习“询问及描述任务外表”的句型。Teaching procedures:Step1. Greetings and lead-in Good morning, boys and girls. Today we learn how to describe peoples hair, Build and height.Step2.presentation1. New words about hairstyle study(展示关于头发的不同图片,学习新词long,short,curly,straight并板书。用多媒体课件为例做下面的练习。)A: What does he look like?B: He has short hair.A: What does she look like?B: She has long/curly/straight hair.2. New words about build study.(展示关于身材的不同图片,学习新词thin/heavy/fat/of medium build并板书。用多媒体课件为例做下面的练习。)A: What does she look like?B: She is thin.A: What does he look like?B: She is of medium build/heavy/fat.3. New words about height study. (展示关于身高的不同图片,学习新词tall/short/of medium height并板书。用多媒体课件为例做下面的练习。)A: What does he look like?B: He is tall/short/of medium height.3. Work on book 1a.Step4. Practice Show some pictures to the students and ask them to describe peoples look.Step5.summarize target language s Get students to sum up what theyve learned in this class and emphases is the key points.Step6. Pair work Look at the pictures and complete the sentences.Step7. Group work(make a survey) Work in group. Ask your members in your group using these questions: Who is your favorite star? What does she /he look like? Then make a report to the class. You may begin with: In our group, our favorite star is .He /She is .He /She has Step8.
