Section A 1 (1a-1c)一、Learning target 1.Knowledge objectives:1) Able to describe personal traits comparing with your friends and classmates by using comparatives with -er/ier/more of adj. adv. in this period. sentences: Tina is taller than Tara. Sam has longer hair than Tom. Thats Tara,isnt it? 2)Grammar: Learn to grasp the structure and usage of comparatives。 2. Ability and Emotional objectives: Able to describe personal traits by comparing with each other,and learn from each other。二、Learning focus and difficulties1. Learning focus :1) the structure of comparative of the adj. and adv。 2) the flexible usage of the comparative in describing persons and things around.2. Learning difficulty: How to clear the difference between “am/is/are(be)” and”have/has”by using the comparative of the adj. and adv;the usage of Tag Question. 三、Teaching procedure. Warming up Some questions to arouse students interest in the topic about their favorite star ?1、 Do you like stars?/Whats your favorite star?(sports star/TV star/Movie star/singer)2、 What does she/he look like?Today,well know about some famous star,now lets guess whats they look like?(some pictures to let students to describe by using adjectives and make comparative). PK Game Do you have friend?/Who is your good friend?/what does he/she look like? Do you want to PK with him/her? 1、Hand wrestling: Firstly,Teacher set an example to students about how to play the game, then ask students to play the game,then the winners stand up to share the reasons he/she wins. e.g. I win, because she is heavier than me. I am stronger than her. She gets up earlier than me. I run faster than her. 2、Carry me Let students carry each other on their backs and see who can do it? e.g. I can,because Im thinner than he and she is taller than me. Presentation Show one apple and one pear,ask Students to see the pix about apples and pears to see the differences. Then compare some of their things with each other.e.g. The apples are bigger than the pears.The pears are more delicious than the apples. Summarize the Comparatives. Group competition. A + be(V) + 比较级 + than + B.、A + have/has+ 比较级 +n.+ than + B. Listening PracticePre-listening Look at the picture,and find the similarities and differencesWhile-listerningThen listen to the recording. Ask Students to number the twins(Tips:focus on the key words)Post-listening.Check the answers,and then let students to role play to guess who is he/she?. Pair work Guess who is my best friend?Ask students to describe their best friend by using comparative,let others guess who is he/she?. Extended exerciseDo the related exercise to consolidate what theyve learned.
