Greetings and leading inGreet the students as usual, and ask Ss some questions Q1:Do you know me?Q2:What do I look like? Ask the students to list the words about personal traits.(Purpose: make students relax and have them to try to describe the teacher with some adjectives that weve learned, such as tall, thin, beautiful ; lead students to the new lesson )Step2.Ping-pong Game,Play a game named “ping pong”. Tell students to play a“ping-pong game” with the teacher. Both of them stand up and do the action like playing ping-pong, and the adjectives that are opposite are the balls. T: tallS: shortHave a competition with the opposite adjectives and review the words describing people happily. It is the basic of next step.(Purpose: Review the adjectives theyve learned, and create an active, optimistic atmosphere)Step3 competitionPlay a video that is about a cat and a mouse. Tell them they are having a competition .Let students enjoy the video and feel the comparative degree first.After it, ask students to compare who is bigger, who is stronger, who is the winneraccording to the video.(From the interesting story that is about competition between a cat and a mouse, have students to feel the comparative degrees . )Step3 PresentationTell Ss that there are more famous people joining in the game. Show some funny pictures about famous people to present the new words and their comparative degrees such as tall/ taller, heavy/heavier, funny/funnier,long/longerAnd the structure A is/are 比较级 than B B isolder thanM.(Repeat)板书ButI think she iscalmer thanBob. (Repeat) 板书2、Activity: Magic eyesUse PPT and show pictures quickly .Ask the students to reflect quickly and judge who is fatter (Choose the pictures of the famous people who is from the popular TV Show, arouse their interest to join the game and practice more about the comparative further.Step41b1. Call attention to the picture.2. Play the recording. Ss listen and number the pairs of twins in the picture.3. Check the answer.4,Then listen again and fill in the conversation below. Pairwork(Who is who?)1c 1、Show the sample dialogue to help Ss to compare the three pairs of twins. Practice the target languages in the picture in pairs.2、Ask each pair to make conversations about the other twins.3、Ask some pairs to present their dialogues.Step6.Guessing gameDescribe one of your classmates, then let other students guess who he/she is?Give them a modle like this: Modle1: S1:She is taller than me . She wears a pair of glasses Who is she? S2: Is she Wang Ming?S1: Yes . /No.( Students are familiar to their classmates, and can catch the features .They are able to describe peoples appearance and personality traits easily. )Step7. Read ,listen and matchThe teacher prepares some parts of bodies that are made of paper. Let two pairs of students to find the correct parts and match them together to make a person according to the sentences . Judge that which pair does better. AHe is an ugly(丑陋的) man.He is shorter. He is heavier .He has shorter straight hair.But he is funnier .BShe is a pretty girl.She is taller.She is thinner.She has longer curly hair.She is more outgoing.(Purpose: to practice students reading ,listening by playing the matching game, and try to make all of the students join the activity) Step8.Writing Compare the two persons in each picture. And write them downThe teacher gives Ss two funny pictures that are from popular TV play and their favorite comic. One is about A Shuai and his classmate Dalianmei, the other is about a fat man called GuangLiang and a thin man called Bi Qing who are from a TV play. Ask students to choose one of the pictures and compare the two persons in the same picture by using the comparative degrees. Then write them down and share them with the whole class.Step9. Summary:1. (Grammar focus) Give some explanation to students difficulties.2. Rules of adjectives in the structure.Step 10SingingThe more we get together,together, together.The more we get together, The happier well be.For your friends are my friends,And my friends are your friends .
