You are shorter than him. Ability Focus:Ss will be able to use comparative adjectives to describe the difference between people.Affection Focus:Ss will be able to focus their attention on their classmates, friends and family members. And find out what personality they are and how to take care of their emotion to get well with them.Teaching method:Task-based language teachingTeaching Aids: PPT, tape recorderTeaching Procedures:Step1: warm-upGreetings.Show the students some pictures on the screen. Purpose : To arouse their interest and initiative.Step2. RevisionAsk individual students to describe the teacher with some adjectives they knew. Purpose : To review some adjectives they have learned before and get ready for the next step.Step3. Presentation Show some pictures on the screen and talk about them with some new words for Ss to guess the meanings of the new words ,then play a leading role to read them. Purpose : To introduce the key vocabulary .Step4. PracticeAsk Ss to give some more opposite words they have learned before.Get Ss to match each word with its opposite in 1a .Check the answers.Purpose :To provide vocabulary practice.Step5.PresentationShow some famous persons photos and sum up the rules of the comparative degree of adjective.Purpose :To summary the rules of the comparative degree of adjective.Step6. PresentationShow some famous persons photos and teach the sentence structure: A+be+adj.的比较级+ than+ B。Then show the students some more pictures and ask them to practice more.Pair work:Talk about the Ss and their partner.Purpose :To provide oral practice using target language.Step6.Listening1b.Play the tape , have Ss listen to three conversations about the twins and number 1 through 3 for them. Check the answers. 2b Listen and fill in the chart.Purpose :To provide listening practice using target language. Step7.Pairwork Give a chart about Tom and Sam(2c).Use the chart to lead in the sentence structure: Is Sam than Tom? Yes/No, Sam.+adj.的比较级 than Tom. Then use the structure above to practice in pairs, ask 2 Ss make up similar conversations about the twins in the picture in pairs. Ask some pairs to act them out. Purpose :To provide guided oral practice using the target language.2d Role-play the conversation.Purpose :To consolidate the important points. Step8. WritingAsk the Ss to use the words and sentence structure they have learned to describe their best friends. Show the beginning .Purpose :To consolidate the important points.Step9. HomeworkWrite an article: “My bes
