Its the most popular. Which is the best clothes store? You can buy clothes the most cheaply there. They play the most boring songs. 2. Ability aims:Students can learn the usage of superlative degree .Students will be able to make comparisons about stores or other things.3. Emotional aims:Students can talk in English by this topic, and by showing some pictures about the most famous place ,the most delicious food and the biggest school in Xianghe, students will know our hometown better.Teaching important points1. Superlatives with (i)est and most and irregular comparisons2.Students can use the comparative and superlative forms of adjectives and adverbs to describe the people and things .Teaching difficult points Students can use comparative and superlative forms correctly. Call some students to answer .Then read the sentences together.2.students discuss who is the funniest boy in the class , by reviewing the comparative degree, I introduce the usage of superlative degree in an interesting way . Ss answer the questions. Try to revise what have learned yesterday.Step 2. PresentationThere are 3 movie theatres in our town. Compare the 3 movie theatres by prices, seats and screen .Then talk about which kind of movie students like .Red star Cinema is the cheapestScreen City has the most comfortable seats.Movie World has the biggest screen.Then talk about As for a movie theater, what is important to you? Comfortable seats, big screens ,new movies close to home, buy tickets quickly or popular.Ask Ss to make comparisons about the quality, service and price.To arouse Ss interests and help them master the words and phrases better. To help Ss make comparisons.Step 3. Discussion 1a 1. How do you choose which movie theater to go to? Write the things in the box under “Important” or “Unimportant”.2. Ss discuss with their partners and write the words in the box in the chart. Discuss To arouse Ss interests and help Ss to consolidate the phrases and structures.Step 4 Listening 1b1. Have the students close their textbooks.2.Tell the students that they are going to listen to three conversations and should hear the names of the three movie theaters .3. Play the recording for the Ss to listen and match the statement with the right movie theaters. 3. Play the recording again. Check the answers with the Ss. Ss listen to the tape and finish the exercises.To improve Ss listening ability and consolidate the knowledge. Step 5 discussion 1cShow two pictures and the qualities of the two theaters about the two movie theaters. Then discuss.Ss try to discuss and compare the two movie theaters.To help Ss to consolidate the phrases and structures.Step 6. Listening 2a,2bWork on 2a: 1. Read the questions and answers in 2a. Tell Ss to remember the information. 2. Play the recording for the Ss to listen and circle the boys answers. 3. Play the recording again to check the answers.Work on 2b: 1. Let Ss read the sentences below. Explain some main sentences for the Ss. Make sure they know what to do. 2. Play the recording for the Ss to write the correct store or radio station next to each statement. 3. Play the recording again to check the answers. Ss listen to the tape and finish the exercises.To improve students listening ability and consolidate the knowledge. Step7. Pair work 1. Let Ss read the model with a partner. 2. Use the information in the chart of 1a and 1b. Ask and answer with a partner. 3. Let some pairs ask and answer about the chart. Ss work in pairs and make dialogues.To develop Ss speaking skills. Step 8 discussion 2c Some students dont live in Xianghe ,so they dont know much about Xianghe .Xianghe is a beautiful town and has a long history.
