Enable students to get familiar with the words and expressions about describing peoples looks. 2). Enable students to know how to use the target language to describe peoples looks. 3). Develop students listening and speaking skills by finishing 1a-1c.3. Emotion aims 1). To develop students habit of arranging their outlooks and behaviors. 2). To stimulate students interest in learning English by listening & speaking English.II. Important & difficult points1. Important points: 1). Words & phrases: curly, straight, tall, medium, height, of medium height/build, thin, heavy. Target language: What does he/she look like? He/Shes of medium height, and he/she has long straight hair.2). Listen and understand the 1b improve the students listening skill. 2. Difficult points: 1). How to let students speak. 2). How to describe peoples looks.III. Teaching aids Blackboard, tape recording, word cards, pictures.IV. Teaching proceduresStep 1.GreetingStep 2. Warming-upSong: What does he look like? What is he like? He is handsome and he is shy. What does she look like? What is she like? Shes beautiful and she is nice.Step 3. Leading - in 1). Free talk A: Who is he/she?B: He/She is .A: What does he/she look like?B: He/She is . 2). Learning new words.New words: curly, straight, tall, medium, height, of medium height/build, thin, heavy.Step 4. Practice1. Show some peoples pictures, ask students questions.A: What does he/she look like? B: He/She is/has has long/short/curly/straight/blonde hair. is tall/short/thin/heavy/of medium height/build. (T-Ss, T-S, S-S)2. The T points to one student and asks all the students the same question. Students answer.A: What does he/she look like?B: He/She is/has.3. Guessing game: 1). He is a boy in our class. He is very tall and thin. He has short hair. He has two big eyes. He likes playing basketball. Can you guess who he is? 2). He is a man in our China. He is a basketball player. He is really, really tall. He has short straight hair. And he has a long face, two small eyes. Who is he? 3). She is a woman. She is not tall or short. She is of medium height and of medium build. She has two big eyes and a round face. She act in “Huan Zhu Gege” as “Xiao Yanzi”. Can you guess who she is? 4). Show four pictures to the whole class, ask one student to describe a picture, the other students guess. Then ask another one student to describe one picture. Step 5. Do 1a.1.
