Section B 2a-2e 授课教师:冯美苓(河北省廊坊市大城县第四中学) 教材分析The topic of this period is about the cartoon character Mickey. As we know, cartoon characters play a very important role in students daily life. So I designed this class in order to let students know about Mickey, the popular cartoon character, and let them know his spirit. 学情分析The students are from Grade Eight. They are interested in this topic and they are eager to talk about their favorite cartoon characters and know their spirit. 教学目标知识与能力目标 1. To understand and know how to use some important phrases such as, one of the main reasons, try ones best. 2. To learn some translation skills. 过程与方法目标 To understand why Mickey is a common man, but he is so popular. 情感态度与价值观目标 To know American culture. 教学重难点重点 1. To understand and know how to use some important phrases such as, one of the main reasons, try ones best. 2. To learn some translation skills. 难点 To understand why Mickey is a common man, but he is so popular and to learn American culture. 教学策略与 设计说明本节课是一节阅读课,教师通过围绕米奇的出现、米奇的成长、米奇的成就这条线索,给学生设置具体的阅读任务,让他们实实在在阅读文本,教师精心设计点拨技巧,巧妙穿插渗透文化,潜移默化渗透情感。让阅读真正成为课堂活动的主要内容,面向全体学生。 教学过程教学环节(注明每个环节预设的时间)教师活动学生活动设计意图Warming up 2 minutes The teacher shows PPT in which there are many different kinds of cartoon characters to students and plays a song for them. To enjoy the song and pictures. To let the students get ready to the class. Lead in 4 minutes The teacher asks the students some questions “ Who is your favorite cartoon character?” “Why do you like him/her?” The students answer the teachers questions. “ Conan is my favorite because he is smart.” 1. Engage the students to the class.2. To evaluate the cartoon characters. Pre-teach Words learning 7 minutes The teacher teaches the students three new words symbol, common and appear. The teacher gives the English meaning of each word and put the words in sentences to let the students experience them. And then check the understanding of the new words. The students do the match exercises and check the answers in groups. To learn and understand the new words according to the context. Reading Practice 17 minutes 1. Gist reading: read and match 2. Specific reading: Read and Fill in the chart, Read and answer and do some exercises 3. Translation skills : Translate and Choose Translation skills: 1) 代词适度还原 2) 结合语境,选择最佳 1. Read and match. 2. Read and fill in the blanks and check the answers in groups. 3. Read and translate. To understand the passage by grasping the key phrases and know the translation skills. Speaking Practice 6 minutes 1. To say out what they know about Mickey. 2. Choose one topic to discuss. 1) What is Mickey Mouse a symbol of? What cartoon character is a symbol of Chinese culture? 2) Can you think of another cartoon character that is as famous as Mickey? And why is the character popular? To discuss in groups and one student show the opinions. 1. To consolidate the knowledge they learned today. 2. To feel the American culture. Summary 3 minutes Play a piece of music and let the students know “ Try to face any danger, Try to be full of hope, Try to change sorrow into song, A little man can also win a big world!” The students enjoy the poem.
