Unit 8 How do you make a banana milk shake? Section A 1a2cI. Teaching aims and demands:Knowledge objects:1. Master new words and phrases shake, milk shake, blender, turn on, peel, pourinto, put in, cut up, yogurt, honey, watermelon, spoon, finally2. Master the target language How many / How much do we need ?A: How do you make a banana milk shake?B: First peel three bananas and cut up the bananas. Next put the bananas and ice-cream in the blender. Next pour the milk into the blender. Then turn on the blender. Finally drink the milk shake . Ability objects: 1) Learn to describe a process of making food & Follow instructions.2) Train students listening 、speaking、and writing skills.Emotional objects: 1) Knowing that its not easy to be a cook.2) Its our duty to do something for our parents. Teaching key points and difficulties :1) Describe processes about making a banana milk shake and fruit salad.2) Adverbs of sequences: FirstNextThenFinally.3) The usage of how much and how many. Teaching procedures:Step1 Lead-in Show some pictures about students cooking. T: We have cooked something delicious for our parents.Today well learn how to make a banana milk shake and fruit salad.(通过学生自己实际生活中做过的事,引出本单元的话题,自然而且真实,学生能很快进入课堂)Step2 Presentation T: Milk shake is very delicious, do you like it?Can you make a banana milk shake?Were going to learn how to make a banana milk shake together.Task1 well watch a video and answer one question. Ask: What ingredients do we need?(通过看视频激发了学生的学习兴趣,以及制作香蕉奶昔的欲望) Ss: Students give their answers and the teacher shows the pictures of milk, ice-cream, banana, and blender.)Task2 Do 1bListen and put the instructions in order.1.Point out the actions in the picture and the list of actions in activity 1b .2.Play the recording twice and check the answers._ Turn on the blender._ Cut up the bananas._ Drink the milk shake._ Pour the milk into the blender._ Put the bananas and ice-cream in the blender._ Peel three bananas.(用听听力的方式进一步引导学生掌握制作香蕉奶昔的具体步骤,并出示图片及表动作的词帮助学生理解记忆)Task3 Show time and pairwork1. Show some pictures in the big screen and some verb phrases。 Let Ss learn how to make a banana milk shake, give students five minutes to practice the conversation in pairs.2. Ask students to look at the pictures and retell the instructions in pairs. 3. Let some pairs act out their conversations without words.(学会制作奶昔的过程是这节课的重点吗,所以我设计了三个任务,由易到难,图文并茂,便于你学生掌握)Step4 Listening T: We have learned how to make a banana milk shake , next well learn how to make fruit salad. Task 1Ask: What ingredients do we need? Show the pictures.T: “How many bananas do we need?S1: We need three bananas.T: “How much yogurt do we need?S2: We need one cup of yogurtAnd, how many apples/watermelons do we need? “How much yogurt do we need? Lets listen and find out the answers.Task 2 Listen and complete the chart .One1._TwoApples2._BananasOne cup3._Two 4._5._1. Let Ss read the chart. Tell Ss that they should write the ingredients and numbers in the chart. Before they write they should predict the answers. Tell some students to say their predictions.2. Play the recording for the Ss and ask them to write the correct answers in the chart.3. Check the answers and repeat the conversation after the tape.(听力之前预测很关键,同时也能提醒学生们注意细节,如变复数、三单等。这也为接下来的pair work 做了铺垫。还有一定要用好录音机,让它真正起到示范引领作用)Step5 Pair work 1. Tell Ss to ask and answer questions about how to make fruit salad in pairs. Try to ask and answer about how to make fruit salad in pairs.3. Ask some pairs to act out their conversations.A: Lets make fruit salad.B: OK, good idea. How much do we need?A: .We need How many do we need?A: Let me think. We need .(通过pair work来练习how many 和how much 句型,让学生能更流利地进行口头表述并能自己总结出他们的用法)Step6 Group workAsk students to fill in the blanks by themselves and discuss how to make fruit salad.Exercise:How do we make fruit salad?First, cut up _.Next, _ the fruit _ the bowl.Then, put in _ _ _ honey and _ _ _ yogurt.Finally, mix it all up.When they finish writing ,ask some students show their conversations to all the students in class.(这一环节以group work的方式让学生自己讨论出制作水果沙拉的过程,并派代表进行展示,进一步完善了本节课的学习内容)Step 7 Harvest and ParticipateT:What did you get from this lesson?A wordA phraseA sentenceAsk some students to say what they have learned in this class and make a summary.Remember:We should try to do something for our parents.
