It is widely used in military thought, military history, military geography, military technology, military medical, etc. To be specific, military English has been widely used in various military theories of literature, military technical literature, military information and military official documents, etc. At the same time military English is regarded as a branch of science and technology English. It has a close link with mathematics, physics, chemical, electronic, mechanical, astronomy, meteorology, space technology and many other disciplines. It is also one of the most professional branches in English, which belongs to the scope of special English. Since the activities in the military field are always very abundant, which decides that the military English itself has a series of Characteristics. In the aspects of lexic, syntax, and usage and so on, it often has many differences from common English and literature English. Working as a military translator, if one wants to grasp the key elements, there is no shortcut but to have a comprehensive knowledge. This research paper combines many previous researches and studies. Having a brief understanding of military English helps us gain a knowledge of military field when reading military papers and news, also it can broaden our eyesight. Furthermore, this paper has theory and practical significances. With the study of the characteristics and translation of military English, it can help to open up a new field of research. As a result, it will provide the later generation with some reference. To a higher degree, it combines military field and language study organically.二国内外研究现状 The writer of this paper has searched and collected a large number of researches and papers related to the topic of military English. In China, It includes the Stylistic features and translation of military English written by Xin Min and Yu Jie, which has a deep study in the stylistic features and translation of military English. According to their paper, the stylistic features include lexical feature and syntactic feature. According to them, the translation of military English should include the following four steps: a brief professional knowledge, exact understanding of its meaning, careful analysis in the long sentences, and proper use of vocabulary. Another article written by Zhang Ju is The language features and translation principles of military English, in which the wide use of clipping words is its language feature, and its translation principles are: exact use of words, concise form and translation standardization. Moreover, I have also sought for many other articles such as Zhu Lianhongs the vocabulary in military English, LiWeizhongs the comparison between Chinese and English military terms and any other materials related to my research paper. Of course, they can give me help with my article and I surely get much information from the previous achievements.三本课题研究内容 This paper focuses on the characteristics and E-C translation of sentences in military English, then states the significance of it. 1. The language features of military English, mainly includes Compound word formation, Acronym, Concise oral language, Soldierssoldiers emotional and political features, Semantic fuzzy expression, Irony, Borrowing and so on. 2. As to the translation of sentences in military English, it consists of two aspects: the translation and its principles. The former one includes: a brief professional knowledge, exact understanding of its meaning, careful analysis in the long sentences, and proper use of vocabulary. The later has three principles: exact use of words, concise form and translation standardization. Furthermore, some detailed examples can be found to support my views.4 本课题研究方案 1. Make sure what I am interested in and what I want to write, then according to my practical condition, confirm the theme and title of my paper-Characteristics and E-C translation of sentences in military English. 2. Collect information as much as I can on the Internet and in the library, which is related to military English, maybe about its features, translation, examples, books, papers and articles. 3. Choose the materials which will be useful for my writing and collect them, read carefully, learn cherished skills from previous achievements, then form an outlook on my mind on how to write it. 4. Ask teachers for help, for example, whether the title is suitable to write, what aspects to state, where to collect information, how to begin the paper, what mistakes should be avoided and so on. Thus, I can prevent myself from being misled and prepare for it smoothy. 5. Write a brief plan for the paper, including the purpose, content, plan, process, previous achievements and so on. So it is a good guide to let me follow it. 6. Start writing it. During the process, ask advice from classmates and teachers, to organize my paper well. 7. After writing, read carefully for several times and try to find out some possible mistakes. 5 研究目标、主要特色及工作进度 Purposes: Through the study of language features and translation of military English, we will deepen the understanding of English in the military field, and all kinds of army language in military texts, understand the deep meaning of some military terms in the context in particular, expand our knowledge, have the ability of reading some military news and magazine.
