My English StudyThe first time I began to contract English language was the first year in my junior middle school .At that time ,my English teacher was once my fathers student ,so she took good care of my English study .Thanks to her great help ,I studied very hard and very well ,whats more ，I made stable English foundation for my future English development .Of course ,my English was the best in my class .However ,as the English learning go on ,I began to become a little proud of my achievements .Therefore ,just because of complacency about my English ,I laid English study aside for a period .Just from that time ,I began to lose strength in English .Until now ,my English level still remains just so-so .Thinking over now ,you can know how regretful for my complacency I am now !Things above are the experience of my English study ,inflect and regretting .Now ,studying in Shan dong university ,I feel it to be one of the greatest challenges to me .Thinking about the advantages of my English study ,I think I can do better in English pronunciation ,writing as well as English speaking .Most of these I think may owe to the activity of Li Yang Crazy English held in our senior middle school for about two years .Meanwhile ,we read English every morning ,recited passages every weekend ,and write sentences every day .Of course ,I practiced English speaking a lot and memorized lots of beautiful and fluent English short passages .Until now ,I can still recite some of them ,as I once remembered them so firmly and recited them so fluently !All these sentences are very familiar to me .While I do very bad in my English reading and listening .I guess this may because I did too little out-class English reading and listening .When I read passage or English news, although I can know every words meaning, I can not understand the whole sentences meaning very so often, and the listening is the same with reading .therefore, I must read more English passages and books to promote my English reading comprehension.Now in college, we have less time in class, but more free time after class. I admit I didnt do well in my English study this year, more accurately to say, I have just got very little promotion in English level. In our oral English class, we can discuss some topics and stand out to speak out our own ideas. Of course, this needs our team spirit to discuss and courage to stand out. All these needs help us to develop our English abilities. Whats more, through discuss questions with partners, we got the chance to know better about each other and made friends with each other. However, I do have some ideas about our oral English class. On one hand, sometimes the discussing topics were not very familiar or interesting to us, so we may lose interest to discussing it. I think wed talk about some popular subjects, such as eating, love and travel and so on. On the other hand, most students feel that the oral English class is very boring and tiring. Some even dont want to go to that class. Therefore, a better reform plan I think should be worked out to deal effectively with the situation. Of course, this must be discussed by every one rather than only English teachers.In our college English study, I feel the most beneficial and most interesting thing is the school term item, especially this terms drama performance. On one hand, we can practice our abilities of speaking and use English to express inside emotion. On the other hand, it is a good way to show our latent capacities of performance. So, in reality, this is a valuable chance to every one of students. Therefore, it could be understood why some students advised school to hold twice of this item, which can be thought over carefully.In the end, given the situation of my English study, I think I must take measures to promote my English level. Things bellow are my English study stages I learned from others whose English are very good, I think I should do like what they said:“Learning English requires action. Listen to an audio book or other recording in English, stopping it frequently, trying to understand what is being said, and trying to imitate the speakers pronunciation 3. Spend your afternoon practicing the pronunciation of the English r sound 4. Carefully write an e-mail message in English, using a dictionary or a Web search every 20 seconds to make sure every word is correct, and taking 5 minutes to write one sentence 5. Think about an English sentence youve read, wondering if it could say a instead of the in the sentence, and trying to find similar sentences on the Web to find out the answer 6. Walk down the street and build simple English sentences in your head (talking to yourself in English about the things you see around you) What kind of person would do all these crazy things? Only one kind, the kind of person who enjoys doing them like doing them. If you want to learn to speak the English well, youre going to have to become that person. You cannot hate doing these things. Have you ever heard of a person who became successful by doing something he hated? The problem with learning and teaching English as a foreign language is that all English learners want to speak English well; however, most learners dont want to spend time on learning English on their own. (Which is probably why they sign up for English classes and hope their teacher will force knowledge into their heads?) This lack of motivation means that learners basically dont spend their own time on learning English, and if they do, they dont do it regularly. For example, a typical learner might study English phrasal verbs for 12 hours before an English exam. However, he will not read a book in English for 30 minutes every day.
