They understand some words and simple sentences. They can finish the tasks with teachers help. They are confident in learning this lesson well. Teaching aims.Ability aims1. Students are able to understand and use the patterns to give simple weather report, such as “Good morning! This is the weather report. Its in Its degrees centigrade. ” And use them in real situation.2. Students are able to say, write and use news words about weather, such as “warm” ”cool” ”cold” ”hot” ”weather” ”weather report”.3. Students are able to say the words with “-arm” “-oo-” ”-old” “-o-” “-ee-”. Emotional aims and culture1. Students will know weather may affect peoples emotion.2. Students will know different countries have different weather conditions. . Teaching key points1. Students are able to understand and use the patterns to give simple weather report, such as “Good morning! This is the weather report. Its in Its degrees centigrade. ” And use them in real situation.2. Students are able to say, write and use news words about weather, such as “warm” ”cool” ”cold” ”hot” ”weather” ”weather report”. Hes a weatherman.Step 2 Presentation 1. Present “weather” from Bobs job. Guide students to say it. Students know how to pronounce “-ther” by reading “father” “mother” “brother”.2. Students are known of requirements for being a little weather reporter: pass memory texts, read the maps and report the weather. 3. Play the video. Students watch and try to remember the cities and temperatures.4. Present “warm” and “cool”. Students recall the words and fill in the blanks. “Its in Beijing today. Its 20 degrees centigrade.” “Its in Lhasa today. Its 15 degrees centigrade.” Show pictures to make students feel “warm”. Give students a hug to make them feel “warm”. And present the pattern “Its warm.” Students spell it with teacher and read it.Read the words: warm, war, warp, and the sentence “Its warm in Beijing today.” Show pictures to make students feel “cool”. And present the pattern “Its cool.” Students spell it with teacher and read it. 5. Guide students to say “degrees centigrade”6. Present “warm” and “cold”. Students recall the words and fill in the blanks. “Its in Harbin today. Its degrees centigrade.” “Its in Hong Kong today. Its degrees centigrade.” Show pictures to make students feel “cold”. And present the pattern “Its cold.” Students spell it with teacher and read it. Read the words: cold, old, hold, and the sentence “Its cold in Harbin today.” Show pictures to make students feel “hot”. And present the pattern “Its hot.” Students spell it with teacher and read it. Step 3 Practice1. Enjoy the chant. Do actions with teacher. Then teacher say and students do. Ask some students to say sentences, the others do actions.2. Read the map and judge.3. Read the map and say more sentences like this: Its in today. Its degrees centigrade.4. Students take out the maps and write “warm” ”cool” ”cold” ”hot” according to the degrees on their maps.Step 4 Production1. Group work. Watch the weather report. Then look at their own maps to report the weather in group of 4.Step 5 Emotional education & culture1. Compare the weather of Singapore, Canada and China.
