Know how to introduce the correct way of making a turkey dinner by using first, next, then.Moral Objects:.Be thankful and helpful 2. Key points:Help students understand the history of thanks giving3. Difficult points:Understand understand how to make a turkey dinner4. Teaching proceduresStep 1 Warm up and lead in1) Show a picture of 1a and ask studetns what we can make with the ingredients in the pictures. (a turkey sandwich).2) Ask students the steps of making a turkey sanwich by using first, then, next.3) Ask students if they know how to make a turkey dinner. And show them five pictures from 2b. You may give them some time to discuss.4) Show studetns the text of the correct way to make a turkey dinner and ask them to put the pictures in the right order with the help of the text. Check answers.5) Ask questions about the way to make a turkey dinner. Help students to have a better understanding of the way to make a turkey dinner step by step.Step 2 While task1) Present a picture of a turkey meal which looks very delicious. Ask studetns: When do people eat it? ( On Thanksgiving)Ask studetns to go through the texts and find out the answers to the following questions:a. When is Thanksgiving?b. Where is it celebrated?Read aloud the article and answer the questions below:a. When did the people first celebrate the special day?b. Who started to celebrate the special day?c. Why did people celebrate it?Read the article for the third time and divide it into three parts, then fill in the blanks in the chart below:Step 3 Post task1) Present the word “ thanksgiving”, ask students what do people do on that day? After students answer the question, teacher can add that “ giving thanks if what people do on that day”, at the same time with the movements, students can see the word “thanksgiving” become “ giving thanks” which may help them have a better understanding the thanksgiving.2) Motivate studetns to think about the people who they want to thank, invite some studetns to share their opinions.3) Show a thanks note from the teacher to the students, help them understand that how importatnt it is
