牛津英语8A Unit 6 Natural disasters(Comic Strip &Welcome to the unit) 教学设计.教学目的: A.知识目标:通过Comic strip & welcome to the unit 这两部分的教学,学生能掌握生词natural, disaster, accident, earthquake, lightning, storm, rainstorm, thunder, typhoon, 了解词组mop up the water, wash.away ;初步了解过去进行时的用法。B:能力目标:熟练掌握常见自然灾害及自我保护的措施。C:情感目标:唤起更多的人的自我保护及保护大自然的意识。.教学准备: (1)A.课件制作 B. 8K卡纸,固体胶,水彩笔 , 两个头箍。C.课前分组,6人一组,明确小组长,每组分发一个信封,内装若干张自然灾害的彩图,给任意10位同学每人一张笑脸贴花。.教学过程: Step 1: warm-up a. Free talk:(1) Do you enjoy your school life?(2) Are you friendly to your classmates?(3) You like making friends, right?S: Yes.T: Me too. I also have many friends. Today, I bring a friend here.Look!(点击鼠标) Here he comes. (屏幕上出现一个卡通人物)He is Mr nature. He is powerful .He can bring us different kinds of weather. (点击鼠标,出现一张笑脸)When he is happy, he can bring us good weather, such as the sunny day(点出图). When he is unhappy, he will bring us bad weather, such as the rainy day(点出图). 设计意图: 在对话中设计“make friends”是为了介绍本课我所设计的一位核心人物-Mr. Nature. 向学生介绍Mr. Nature 会随着心情的变换带给我们不同的天气,复习两个很普通的天气sunny days 和rainy days.很自然地导入新课。Step 2: Presentation T: Mr. Nature also brought Hobo and Eddie a kind of weather. What weather ? (Lets watch a flash. Tell me the answer. Besides this ,try to find out the answers to these three questions(点出问题并读题)Q 1.What was Hobo doing when it started to rain?Q2.When did Hobo hear the rain?Q3. Why did Hobo ask Eddie to go home with him? (点视频,看完后)Ok, What weather did Mr. Nature bring to Hobo and Eddie? (Rainy day) Then answer the other three questions one by one. At the same time , teach “was/ were doing.” and “mop”. When answering “Not until half an hour later” ,explain that it means “Hobo didnt hear the rain until it rained for half an hour.”l 教was/were doing: Hobo says “I was sleeping.” Here “was sleeping” is “past continues tense”. We can use this tense to talk about things that were happening at a certain time in the past. And the structure is was / were doing. The subject of “was doing” is I / He / She / It. The subject of “were doing ”is We/ You/They. Now Id like you to complete the sentence.l 教“mop”. Here “mop the water up” means ? Can you guess? Yes, it means“把水拖干”.Here “mop” means “do the cleaning with a mop”. Its present participle form is “mopping”. And its past tense form is “mopped”. Remember we should use “double P”. . Look !The man is mopping the floor.设计意图: Comic strip是两只狗之间简洁而幽默的对话,生词较少, 由What weather did Mr. Nature bring to Hobo and Eddie? 导入新课,并很自然向学生初步介绍本单元的语法点过去进行时,利用图片帮助学生理解不乏趣味性。Step 3 PractiseRead after the record first, then practice in pairs and act it out. Maybe these key words can help you.设计意图:培养学生的口语表达能力,两个头箍更能激发学生的表演欲望.Step 4: Talking about natural disasters(在屏幕上点出前面Mr.Nature 和一张笑脸、一张哭脸)T: Mr. Nature is unhappy, he brings the rainy day. And Hobos house is all wet. If he is angry (点鼠标,屏幕上出现一张愤怒的脸),what will happen? S: He will bring us very very bad weather. T: Yes,Thats natural disasters. (教生词) Attention ,please! Here natural is the adj. form of nature. The word “a ”makes different sounds in the two words. In the word nature,“a ”makes an /ei / sound, while in the word natural, “a”makes an /?/ sound. (领读nature, natural disasters.继续点鼠标,屏幕上出现课本P93 Part B的内容)T:Look! these are four kinds of natural disasters and these are their names.Do you know their meanings? Maybe or maybe not. Lets read them first. 对学生不太熟悉的thunder and lightning 和typhoon,不直接告诉他们意思,而是事先设计好它们的声音,让学生自己猜。T:Turn to Page93 and finish Part B .Write the correct names under the pictures in 30 seconds. 设计意图:本部分对学生进行了听,说,读,写的训练。用一张愤怒的脸给学生视觉上的冲击,很自然的了解“Natural disasters” mean “very very bad weather”. 听到轰隆隆的雷声和呼啸的风声,学生也能牢固地记住thunder and lightning, typhoon. 30秒的时限,更是激发了学生的竞争意识。Step 5:ExtensionNatural disasters are very terrible. What is worse, sometimes one disaster may cause another disaster. (点出图片)For example, if the rainstorm is too heavy, it may cause a flood.(领读)(点出图片)This is a village, and the houses are all in water. That is to say a flood may wash the village away.(领读village, wash away) A terrible thunder and lightning may start a big fire. 拓展:a. Beside these natural disasters, there are also some other disasters. Can you tell me any other natural disasters? If you cant say the English name, just tell me the Chinese. b.点出6幅图,和学生一起谈论以下灾害。(earthquake, mud-rock flow, forest fire , drought, sandstorm,tornado, tsunami)1. In 2008, a terrible earthquake happened in Wenchuan,Sichuan province. Thousands of people died.2. The bike is in the mud. Where is the mud from? The mud and stones come down from the mountain. They destroy the houses. Last year, a terrible mud-rock flow happened in Zhouqu, Gansu province.3. Most forest fires are caused by dry weather.4. It is very very dry. People , plants and animals need water very much.5. The whole city is covered with sand. People can not see anything through the thick sand. Sandstorms often happen in South China.6. Can you see the dark smoke in the sky? It comes down round and round like a dragon. Most tornados happen in America.7. A terrible tsunami happened in Indonesia. Nearly 20,000 people lost their lives. Make a conclusion: You see, how terrible these natural disasters are ! They destroyed our earth , Many people lost their lives. 设计意图:和学生一起讨论课本外的常见的自然灾害及其危害,激发学生保护自然的意识。Step 6 :Consolidation(点击鼠标,屏幕上出现12幅图)a. Boys and girls, here are the natural disasters we learned today. Please read the words by yourselves. Try to remember how to say them.b. Now Mr. Nature wants to know if you have a good memory. Hell show us a short video. Watch it and find out how many natural disasters are mentioned and what they are. While watching, please make some notes. (点出视频)Write down as many names as you can in groups. The group which writes down the most names is the winner.(点出表格)Youd better do it in 30 seconds. The group leader writes, other group members say.30 seconds later, ask the groups one by one to find out which group has the correct number. Then ask them what disasters they have written down. While the student is saying, Ill write the words on the blackboard then check the answers.设计意图:本部分再次对学生进行了听,说,读,写的训练。学生对本课的词汇得到了充分的巩固。小组活动增强学生团队合作意识。Step 7 Presentation T: Boys and girls, the natural disasters happened unexpectedly. When natural disasters happen, can we stop them?S:No.T: Right. Its impossible for us to stop them when they happen. Because natural disasters are caused by natural forces.(点出caused by natural forces) So I think its very important to protect nature.Boys and girls, last month I read a piece of news in the newspaper. It also had a terrible result.Look!(点出甘肃校车事故的图) How unlucky! Twenty people died. Is it also a natural disaster ?S:No. T:What is it?S:Its an accident.(领读)T: Can it be prevented? S: Yes.T: I think if it was not overloaded, if the driver drove carefully. Maybe the accident would not happen. So we can say accidents are mainly caused by people.(点出caused by people) Now,boys and girls, do you know the difference between natural disasters and accidents? S:Yes.T:Great! Make a posterT:Boys and girls,Mr. Nature thinks we have known much about natural disasters and how to protect ourselves during the disasters.He wants more people to know about these. So he will hold a poster contest.Would you like to join the competition? S: Yes!T: Wonderful ! (在屏幕上点出要求) One group makes a poster. You can choose one or two natural disasters.
