Lets spell)Teaching aims:(1) Skills &knowledge: Can understand, read and write the 4 new words: “ten, pen, leg, red” .Can understand the pronunciation of letter “e” and know the phonic /e/.(2) Methods: TPR teaching method.Teaching points:Understand, read and write the 4 new words: “ten, pen, leg, red” .Teaching difficulties:Understand the pronunciation of letter “e” and know the phonic /e/.Teaching procedures:Step 1: Warming up (1) Sing a song “Bingo”.Step 2: Revision(1)Play a game: Guessing game. (Show some pictures of “Unit 1 Lets spell” and review the phonic / /.)Step 3: Presentation(1) Show a picture of a family which has 10 people and teach the word “ten”. Teacher writes the word on the blackboard then students write the word on the exercise books. (Follow the word card and read louder and louder.)T (clap hands): Ten, ten, show me ten. (Show the gesture of ten.)(2) Show a picture of red color and teach the word “red”. Teacher writes the word on the blackboard then students write the word on the exercise books. (Boys and girls read the word.)T (clap hands): Red, red, I see red. (3) Show a picture of a pen and teach the word “pen”. Teacher writes the word on the blackboard then students write the word on the exercise books.(Follow the card, read and do the actions.)T (clap hands): Pen, pen, I see a red pen. (4) Show a picture of a leg and teach the word “leg”. Teacher writes the word on the blackboard then students write the word on the exercise books.(Little train, little train.)T (clap hands): Leg, leg, touch your leg.(5) Lets read the words and find out what are the same? (Leading out the phonic /e/.)T (show the gesture): e, e, e, /e/, /e/, /e/.(6) Students listen to the tape of “Lets spell” and read after it.(7) Tell the difference between / / and /e/.(Use the gesture.)Step 4: Practice(1) Play a game: Listen and shoot. (Students read the words, S1 listen and shoot the ball to the right basket.)(2) Find out the different pronunciations of letter “e”. (/e/, /i:/)(3) Group work: Listen and judge.
