Unit5 Do you want to watch a game show?第一课时: New wordsTeaching and Learning Goals:(1) Learn the new vocabulary of Unit5. Memorize the words by reading and writing them. (2) Learn the use of the words and the phases. (3) Students try to learn how to read and remember the words and phrases, and how to learn individually and collectively.Teaching steps: Step 1: Reading1. Students try to read the words on Page125-126 using the phonetics by themselves. 2. Then read with their partners in groups.3. Get some individual students to read and correct their pronunciations.4. Read after the teacher.5. Read after the tape.6. Read aloud and the teacher walks around to see if they have any questions. 【设计意图】:让学生学会试读单词是一种学习习惯的培养,首先学生自己根据音标字读单词,并标出试读时有困难的。接着两人一组或以小组为单位解决遇到的困难。然后找单个同学读单词,教师及时更正错音,帮助学生正音。最后让学生跟录音读。如此几步的学习,大多数学生可以熟悉单词的读音,正确试读出单词。最后还是不会的同学,就给他们找“老师”,他们组的组长就是他们的“老师”,负责课下教会他们。单词的学习坚持从个体同伴小组整体的原则,培养学生自主学习和小组互助学习的能力。Step 2: LearningI. Get the students to read the words by looking at the Chinese words. Then look at the Chinese words and say out the English words.2. Then get them to work in pairs to spell the words or write down the words with the Chinese given in guide books. Underline the words they havent grasped.3. Get the students to have a short dictation about the important words and phrases. 【设计意图】:此环节为巩固单词。通过提问或使用助学默写的形式来对单词加以巩固。这一环节有少部分的学生往往不达标,需要利用自习课或课余的时间让小组长跟踪检查,尽量能让全部学生顺利过关。Step 4 : Read the story and translate into Chinese:1. Read the short passage. Tell students that this is a passage about different kinds of shows.2.Give the students a few minutes to try to comprehend the passage first . 3. Read the vocabulary words in red in the passage.4. Read again and ask students to repeat every word after you. 5. Give the meaning of every word using the description above. Dont forget to use some gestures to make every meaning clear. 6. Ask the class to read the words again. Correct every mispronounced word.7. Have a dictation about the vocabulary in red in the passage. If they cant , dictate after class in groups. 8. Read the story fluently by themselves . Many boys and girls love to watch TV shows or watch movies on television. They spend many hours a day in front of the TV sets. But many parents let their children watch TV only in special time. TV shows are like books or movies. There are many kinds of TV shows, such as sitcoms, comedies, soap operas, news, talk shows, sports shows, fashion shows and so on. Though the news is serious, its quite educational. It helps children to find out what is going on all over the world. However, some children like to watch sitcoms, because they hope to learn some great jokes from them. As for soap operas, some like them, they would like to follow the story to see what happens next. However, some cant stand them, they think the soap operas are so meaningless. Also some kids prefer the action movies and cartoons, they think these shows are very exciting, and they expect to be the successful characters in the plays, they usually dress up like those people,too. One of the main reasons is that they dont want to be common, they want to become rich and famous, too. In fact a child can learn good things or bad things from them. Children dont have to go to the zoo to see the animals. They can see sitcoms, sports shows and game shows at home. Some shows teach children how to cook or how to use tools. Many boys and girls think it is fun to watch TV, but it is also fun to read books, to play games or to visit friends. Are you ready to do anything to take the place of TV? Dont lose any chance if you have time!许多男孩和女孩爱看电视或从电视上看电影。他们一天在电视机前消耗数小时。但是许多父母只允许他们的孩子在特定的时间里看电视。 电视节目就像书本或电影。有许多种类的电视节目例如情景喜剧、喜剧、肥皂剧、新闻、访谈节目、体育节目、时尚节目等等。虽然新闻节目较严肃,但是它很有教育意义。它帮助孩子们发现世界各地正在发生着什么。然而一些孩子喜欢看情景喜剧是因为他们希望从中学到一些好的笑话。至于肥皂剧,一些孩子喜欢它们因为他们愿意跟随故事去看下一步的发展。但是一些孩子无法忍受肥皂剧,因为他们认为肥皂剧是那么毫无意义。而且一些孩子更钟爱动作影片和卡通片,他们认为这些节目很刺激,他们期待成为剧中那些成功的人物,他们也打扮成那些人的样子。其中的一个主要原因就是他们不想平庸,他们也想变得富有和出名。事实上一个孩子可以学到好的东西或坏的东西。 孩子们不必到动物园去看动物。他们可以在家里就能看到情景喜剧、体育节目和游戏节目。一些节目教给孩子如何做饭或使用工具。 许多的男孩和女孩认为看电视很有趣,但是读书、做游戏或拜访朋友也有趣。你做好准备做些什么事以取代电视了吗?如果你有时间的话,千万不要丢掉任何机会哟!【设计意图】:词不离句,句不离篇。在学生掌握本单元单词的基础上,再学习由本单元的生词编成了一篇小故事,引导学生不仅记忆词汇本身的意义,同时在具体的语境中体会它的意义。有助于学生学习理解和使用本单元的词汇。Step 5 Mind map思维树1. Get the students to read the mind map and fill in the mind map according to the story , they can discuss in groups. 2.
