Unit 10 If you go to the party , youll have a great time ! Reading ( Section B 2a- 2d ) 黄雪梅Teaching aims: Knowledge goals: 1. Students can master the usage of the these words: normal, certainly, careless, wallet, himself, step, experience, understanding, solve 2. Students can make sentences by the key phrases: keep to oneself, be angry with sb, make mistakes, advise sb to do sth 3. Students can write passages by the key structures : If people have problems, they should talk to others . Unless , we will certainly feel worse . Ability goals : Students can improve the abilities of reading, writing and understanding. Moral goals : Students can talk about the problems and worries they have in life with others and can find the best solutions by discussion.Teaching important points :1. Students can master the usage of First conditional if +will structure correctly .2. Students can master the usage of Modal verb should to give suggestions . Teaching difficult points :1. Students can make sentences or passages by using Modal verb should .2. Students can get the main idea quickly by skimming the passage . Teaching tools : A recorder , multi-media Teaching procedures :Step 1: Greetings1. Greet the students by talking about the weather . . T: Its raining today ! Just like my feelings . . Step 2: Lead-inPresent some examples of problems and worries to teach some of the new words.T: I have some problems these days . My son is always a nice boy ,but these days he loves playing computer games .He often makes mistakes in study .He is careless. So Im angry with him .I told him he couldnt play computer games unless he gets good grades. So he thinks Im understanding . Can you help me solve this problem ? Can you give some advice ? New words and phrases : make a mistake , be angry with sb , trust sb, solve the problem, give sb some advice , careless , careful .设计说明:从教师自身的烦恼引出本课中的一些生词,以派生词的方式教授careless这个词,care +less, care+ful, meaning +less, meaning +ful 等。 Step 3: Presentation 1. Ask students about their problems and worries .T: Thanks for your advice . Do you have any problems and worries in your daily life ? At home ? At school? ( 2a )S1: I cant stay up on weekdays .S2: I have to do too much homework every day .S3: 2. Discuss the ways of solving the problems and worries they have .T: What will you do if you have a problem ? Will you get advice from an expert ? Or talk to other people ? your parents ? your good friends ? your teachers ? Or keep it to yourself ? S1: I talk to my good friend. S2: I keep it to myself. S3: 设计说明:通过创设情境,让学生参与讨论,同时操练目标语,对本课的话题进行深入的探讨。Step 4: Reading 1. Lead into the passage 2b. T: Different students have different ways to solve the problems , but which way is the best ? Today I invited two volunteers ( Laura Wills and Robert Hunt ) from School Psychological Room to our class . Lets listen to their advice and choose the main idea of the passage . 设计说明:引出课文里的两位主人公,让学生来听听他们的建议,进入课文的2a, 这样学生的兴趣会更浓。2. Play the tape from Laura Wills, a teenager from to the end. Then check the answer. a. If people have problems, they should get advice from an expert.b. If people have problems, they should keep them to themselves.c. If people have problems, they should talk to other people. 3. Skimming : Fast reading and give the main idea of each part . What problems did Laura have once? She lost her wallet . How did she solve her problem ? At first, she was afraid to tell her parents because she thought her parents would be angry with her .In the end, she talked to her parents and they were understanding . Whats the meaning of “understanding” ? ( B ) A. 理解 B. 善解人意的 What did she learn from her experience?She will always remember to share her problems in the future . Whats Lauras idea ?Talking to others helps a lot .设计说明: 指导学生分两步阅读:二是通过回答细节问题,使学生把握重要知识点和文章的框架结构。本步骤里的5个问题是按照段落的意思一层一层有连贯性的,其实也是给学生搭好了支架,让学生按问题的顺序从易到难,一步步理解段落内容。Ask :Do you have the same experience as Laura ?
