Unit 5 Travelling abroad .教材分析 本单元的中心话题是“出国旅游”,课文始终围绕这一主题展开。本节课是reading部分,主要介绍了主人公谢蕾第一次去国外求学进预科班时所面临的问题,以及房东和导师对他的帮助,使她大胆正视困难,迎接挑战,最终树立了信心。通过本节课的学习,可以引导学生联系生活实际,让学生了解在国外学习及生活可能会面临的困难以及他们会采取用的解决办法。最后通过阅读学习有关的单词,短语以及句型,提高学生阅读能力。并且借鉴他人解决困难的经验,帮助学生树立解决困难的决心。II. 教学设计思路本课设计以“Travelling Abroad”为课堂教学材料,以学生现实生活为出发点和归宿点,旨在培养学生阅读能力及其发展学生的语言实际运用能力。本设计以学生为中心,运用了图片展示,采用了学生预测文章内容、复述、讨论、学生自读及教师指导阅读等形式,使学生由浅入深,理解课文,同时又提高了学生各方面的能力。III. 学习任务分析本单元的中心话题时“国外旅游”,在阅读这部分,主要谈到了出国留学的问题。讨论部分:出国留学会获得什么收益,又会遇到什么困难,也是学生较为感兴趣并且很想了解的东西,而文章正式给我们解释了这一问题,而且阅读的难易程度适中,学生有一定的学习热情。IV. 学习者分析教学对象为高中二年级学生,他们已经完成了高二2个多个模块的学习,部分学生渐渐适应了本套教材的学习,也习惯了我的教法。且智力发展趋于成熟,基本能用英语获取信息、处理信息、分析问题和解决问题。但由于课外语言活动环境不够丰富,对阅读的重视也不够,学习中还存在一定的问题。V.Teaching goals1.Target language目标语言1) Key words and phrases: keep it up, fit in, cafeteria, lecture, qualification, preparation, recommend, get use to, comfort, substitute, academic, requirement, essay, tutor, numb, acknowledge, as far as one is concerned, occupy, hopefully, enterprise2) Important sentences:Xie Lei, who is 21 years old, has come to our university to study for a business qualification. Its not just study thats difficult. You have to get used to a whole new way of life, which can take up all your concentration in the beginning.I have been so occupied with work that I havent had time for social activities. Im going to join a few clubs. Hopefully Ill make some new friends.2.Ability goals能力目标Enable the students to learn about Xie Leis school life in London. 3.Learning ability goals 学能目标Help the students learn how to deal with the problems that they would face when studying in a foreign country. 4. Emotion goals 情感目标Develop students ability of solving problems.5. Teaching important and difficult points 教学重难点Help the students to summarize the benefits and difficulties of living in a foreign country. VI. Teaching methods 教学方法Skimming, scanning, task-based method and discussion. VII. Teaching aids 教具准备A recorder, a projector and some slides. VIII.Teaching procedures & ways教学过程与方式Step 1 Revision and lead-inT: “Weve talked about traveling abroad in the last period. Have you ever traveled in another country? Whod like to tell us your experience?” (To lead in the difficulties when traveling abroad, If no one goes abroad before, just share points according to a familiar TV series telling the story of Chinese students in Canada.)Step 2 Pre-readingTalk about studying in a foreign country. First present two pieces of news to start with.Show the news on the screen.(What can you learn from the two news items?) -security problems while studying abroad.News1 On Dec 6tth 2005, two Chinese overseas students were killed in Ottawa, Canada. They were shot at a bar, one was sot dead at once, the other died during the way to the hospital. It was said the murder was Vietnamese.New2Xinhua News Agency) A car accident happened to a group of Chinese overseas students in New Zealand on Sep 7th, 2005. New Zealand police said that the car accident happened in the early morning, one student, Xiao Ding, died on the spot, the other four students were hurt. Now two of them are still in hospital.T: As we know, now more and more people live or study abroad, even some senior or junior high school students are sent to study abroad. Do you know why?(Learn advanced technology; know more different cultures, enlarge knowledge and improve ability)T: Besides the security problems, what are other problems they might meet in their study and daily life? Now lets learn a text about a Chinese girl studying in London. First, please turn to page37, look at the pictures and discuss the questions above them.Step 3 While reading Get the Ss comprehend the passage quickly and accurately, meanwhile help the Ss form a habit of reading.1.
