Theyll also get some moral education: Resolution is a kind of promise that you make to yourself. Nothing is impossible to a willing heart and well begun is half done. But luckily, students in this stage may still take a great interest in English and be active in class . Teaching methods1. Warm-up and lead-inPlay a video about new year, then introduce a new word “resolution”.Purpose of my design: : To construct a relaxing and happy atmosphere, then its easy to lead into the new lesson.Step 2. Make a short self-introduction to let students know “my resolution”, then divide students into four groups.Here, Ill use some photos to introduce myself and tell students some resolutions Ive made in the past.Then, divide students into four groups just according the roles in Journey to the West.Purpose of my design: To arouse students interest and encourage them to compete to win in my class.Step 3. Read the passage.Ask students to read the passage and finish the following tasks.Task 1 Skim the passage, finish 2c, then students will get the main ideas Task 2 Scan the passage, finish 2b.Task 3 Give students a few minutes to look through the passage with four questions, then play a game.These two tasks will make students know details of the passage.Task 4 Ask students to finish a mind map, then lead them to learn about the structure of the passage.Purpose of my design: Use some tasks to help students understand the passage better, at the same time, to help them develop reading habits.Step 4.
