Unit 6 I am going to study computer science. 课程设计Period 1【教材内容分析】 本单元的主题是Life goals。通过单元学习,要求学生学会一些有关职业的表达方式,用 be going to , want to be 等结构来谈论自己与他人理想的职业,谈论为实现理想所做的打算和安排。语法结构掌握when 引导的时间状语从句及what, when, where, how引导的特殊疑问句。在听说的基础上学会综合运用目标词汇、短语及功能句式表达自己理想的职业,学习为实现理想而做出打算和安排,制定未来一段时间的计划。【学情分析】1学生程度不一,学生人数多,语言实践机会少,容易两极分化,通过各种合作学习的活动,可以带动学习英语有困难的学生。2中学生活泼,好动,好胜心强,可塑性大,在教学过程中,注意设置情境,倡导其积极参与,引进小组竞争机制,更好地激发学生的学习兴趣,提高课堂效率。【教学目标】知识目标:1. 重点词汇grow up, computer programmer, cook, doctor, engineer, violinist, driver, pilot, pianist, scientist, be sure about, make sure 2. 能掌握以下句型: What do you want to be when you grow up? I want to be a basketball player. How are you going to do that? Im going to practice basketball every day. Where are you going to work? When are you going to start? Im not sure about that. 3. 语法:Be going to表将来Want to be What, where, when, how引导的特殊疑问句能力目标:用英语的正确时态谈论将来的计划,提高学生们听,说,读,写能力。情感目标:每个人都有自己的梦想和对未来的打算,对于将来想要从事的职业也充满了憧憬。 人们以常谈论他们的设想,因此,应通过学习这单元的内容来激发学生们的学习主动性和学习兴趣,使他们更加有理想,并为实现自己的理想而不断努力。【教学重点及难点】1. 教学重点:1) 学习一般将来时态的构成方式。2) 学习本课时出现的重点句型,通过在不同情景下运用来熟练运用一般将来时态。教学难点:运用what, where, when, how引导的特殊疑问句来询问将来来的打算以及描述将来的打算。【教学方法】任务型教学法:倡导体验参与,培养自主学习能力。课前布置任务,要求复习七下unit 4 关于职业的词汇,预先读本课新词,让学生带着任务有目的地上课,并在课堂学习中不断获得完成任务所必须的知识能力。游戏教学法:新目标倡导的“玩中学,学中玩”的理念很受学生欢迎,设计猜谜游戏复习七年级下册unit 4 中学到的关于职业的词,既达到以旧带新的目的,又有效地激发了学生的学习兴趣,活跃了课堂气氛。竞赛教学法:根据初中生争强好胜的性格特征,在课堂内引进小组竞争机制,提高团体活动效率,加强团体凝聚力,激发学生的求知欲和参与意识。多媒体辅助教学:形象,生动,使课堂容量相对增加,给学生提供更多的语言实践机会,有利于综合语方运用能力的提高。【教具】电脑多媒体,谜语卡片等。【课时分配及教学内容】Period 1 (Section A: 1a-2d)Period 2 (Section A: Grammar Focus & 3a-3c)Period 3 (Section B: 1a-2e)Period 4 (Section B: 3a3c & Self check)【教学过程设计】Period 1 (Section A: 1a-2d)Step 1 Greetings and revision: 1. What do I do? What do you do?2. Revise the words about jobs.Step 2 Lead-in1. Show the photos of Mo Yan and have a talk:A: Who is the man, do you know?B: He is Mo Yan.A: What does he do?B: He is a great author,he was awarded the Nobel Prize in literature on Oct. 11,2012A: What are you going to be when you grow up?B: I am going to be a great author like him.A: How are you going to do that? B: I am going to do lots of reading and practice writing.2. Brainstorm: the names of jobs3. Pair work:A: What are you going to be when you grow up?B: Im going to be a / awhen I grow up.A: What is he/she going to be when he/she grows up?B: He/She is going to a/an.when he /she grows up.Step 3 Work on Section A 1Do you think these jobs are interesting? Rank them (1-12), then tell the reasons. (1 is the most interesting, 12 is the least interesting)Step 4 Work on Section A 1b, Listening1. T: Tell Ss to read the words of jobs in the chart. Make sure they know the meaning of the words and sentences. 2. Play the recording for the Ss to listen and fill in the blanks. 3. Play the recording again. Check the answers with the Ss. 4. Play the recording again. Ss listen and match the jobs with activities. 5. Show the answers on the big screen. Step 5 Section A 1c1. Let Ss read the model with a partner. 2. Use the information in the chart of 1b. Ask and answer with a partner. 3. Let some pairs ask and answer about the chart. Step 6 Section 2a, 2b. 2a:1. Let Ss look at the pictures below. Explain the activities in the pictures if necessary. 2. Play the recording for the Ss to listen and check () the correct boxes in the picture. 3. Play the recording again to check the answers.2b:1. Let Ss read the chart below. Tell Ss that theyll listen to Cheng Hans plan for the future. They should answer the questions:“What” means “What is Cheng Han want to be?”“Where” means “where is Cheng Han going to work?”“How” means “How is he going to do it? ” “When” means “when is he going to start?”2. Play the recording for the Ss to write the correct answers in the chart. 3. Play the recording again to check the answers. Step 7 Pair work (Section A: 2c)1. Tell Ss to ask and answer about Cheng Hans plans using the information in 2b. 2. Give a model to the Ss. 3. Ss work in pairs. Try to ask and answer about Cheng Hans plans. 4. Ask some pairs to act out their conversations. Step 8 Role-play (Section A: 2d) 1. Read the conversations and answer the two questions: What does Ken want to be? _ How is he going to do that? _ What does Andy want to be? _ 2. Explain main points in the conversation. 3. Let Ss read the conversation after the teacher. 4. Practice the conversation with their partner. Then let some pairs to act out the conversation. Step 9 Exercises: Homework:If you want to find your favorite job in the future, you must study hard now. Period 2 (Section A: -Grammar Focus & 3a-3c)Step 1 Revision: 1.Memory Challenge: What do they do?2. Exercises:3. Tell Ss to read the sentences in 3a and match what these people want to do with what they are going to do. 2. 方法指导:指导:先读懂这些句子的意思。根据生活常识来进行推测,将职业与相关的活动相连。 比如,在第一题中,“我朋友相成为一名工程师。” 由常识可知答语应是学习数学;因此应选e句“她打算学习数学。”其他类似。3.学生们,按老师指导的方法进行阅读,并根据常识来推测应采取什么样的活动。4. 最后,教师与同学们一起校对答案,并对学生们有疑问的地方进行解释。Step 4 (Section A: 3b) 1. 让学生们阅读对话,整体把握对话的意思。2. 然后仔细读对话,根据上下文意及时态来确定空格处所应填的词。3. 和学生们一起校对答案。4. 让学生们朗读并表演这个对话。Step 5 (Section A: 3c) 1. 让学生们看表格中的四个特殊疑问词,告诉他们,在这个活动中要求学生们在表格中填写出自己的理想、实现理想的做法,工作的地点及开始的时间等问题。2. 学生们与自己的小组成员一起来讨论自己理想、实现理想的做法,工作的地点及开始的时间等问题,同学们根据自己的实际情况,在表格先填写出自己打算成为什么职业的人;打算在哪里工作;打算如何做;打算什么时候开始。3. 就上述问题,根据表格的提示,用英语进行讨论。4. 让几个小组的同学来用英语问题上述四个问题。 (最后,可以经学生们评议来推举最有能力的小组)Step 5 Exercises:Homework:Talk about Peters dream job using the following information in pairs and write down your conversation. Tell Ss to read the resolutions in 1a. Tell Ss to listen and circle the resolutions they hear. 3. Play the recording for the Ss to listen and circle. 4. Check the answers: Work on 1d: 1. T: Now please look at the chart in 1d. Tell Ss Lucy, Kim and Mike are talking about their New Years Resolutions. How are they going to do it? T: Now lets work on 2c. First, lets read the sentences and make sure we know the meanings of all the sentences. Tell Ss to use the notes in 3b and write three more paragraphs about their resolutions.
