Next,decriple his appearanc and personality.Teacher：Was he tall in the past?Students：No, he was short.Teacher：Thats right.He was short.But now he is tall.We can describe him like this，“Jiang shitao used to be short, but now he is tall.We useused toto talk about how people or things have changed”(然后以另一位学生为例重复进行对话。)Task two:Section A(1a-1c)Step1:SectionA1a1投影Section A1a的表格， 帮助学生回忆appearance和personality的含义。2把学生分为几个小组， 比一比， 看哪个小组在规定的时间内写出的属于appearance和personality的单词最多。3Go on practicing :used to 用法。Show two pictures ,describle appearance and personality of Kate Green and zhou Jielun .4 Pairwork.Make sentences向学生展示一些过去和现在的图片， 让他们对这些图片进行对比， 并练习使用used to be进行描述。Step2：Section A1b1听力准备。让学生看主题图，引导学生预填1b活动中空缺的词语并弄清楚以下问题：What does Mario/Amy/Tina look like now?通过讨论， 让学生能在听录音时留意过去和现在的变化。2让学生听录音材料， 所听内容修正自己的预测，完成填写。3问答形式，如：What did Mario use to be like ?
