Such topic is related to daily life, so it is helpful to raise learning interest of students and it will be also helpful to improve their spoken English. This lesson is the first one of Unit 7. So if the students can learn it well, it will be helpful to make the students learn the rest of this unit.二. 教学目标1. Aims on the knowledge(1)To enable the students to listen, speak, read the words: rainy/raining, windy, cloudy, sunny, snowy/snowing, weather, Moscow, Boston, Toronto.(2)To enable the students to speak the sentences: -Hows the weather?/-Whats the weather like? -Its rainy(raining)/windy/cloudy/sunny/snowy(snowing).2. Aims on the abilities(1)To develop the Ss abilities of listening, speaking, reading and writing.(2)To train the Ss ability of working in pairs.(3)To develop the Ss abilities of communication.3. Aims on the emotionTo enable the students to cooperate and communicate with others.三. 重点难点1. Important points:(1)To help the Ss grasp the expressions: rainy/raining, windy, cloudy, sunny, snow y/snowing , weather, Moscow, Boston.(2)To help the Ss ask and answer the questions: -Hows the weather?/-Whats the weather like?-Its rainy(raining)/windy/cloudy/sunny/snowy(snowing).2. Difficult points: -Hows the weather? / -Whats the weather like?-Its rainy(raining) /windy/cloudy/sunny/snowy(snowing)四. 教学过程Step 1lead-in Look at the picture. Ask the students, “-Whats this? “-Its a rabbit.” “ Do you like it? Why or why not? ” Ask some students to talk about the rabbit. Then ask “ -Whats it doing? ” “ -Its running.” “-Why is it running ?” “-Because its raining.” “-Is it raining now?” “-No.” “-How is the weather today?” “-Its sunny.” Then the teacher says “Today lets talk about the weather. First, lets watch a video. After you watch it, answer my questions. So please watch it carefully.” After watching it, ask students two questions about the video. Then ask the students to look at some pictures. Ask, “ -Hows the weather? / -Whats the weather like? ” Teach the students the new words: windy, cloudy, sunny, rainy/raining, snowy/snowing. Ask them to read the new words after the teacher.Step 2Practice Look at some pictures about the weather. The teacher asks, the students answer one by one. Practice the patterns and the new words. Ask them to learn about the signs about weather, consolidation the new words.Step 3Pair-work Look at five pictures. Tell them to ask and answer about the weather in the pictures in pairs. 3 minutes for the students. Then ask some pairs to act their conversations.Step 4Practice Talk about the weather in different cities in the pictures. Teacher asks, the students answer. Teach students the names of the cities.Step 5Do 1a Ask students to open their books. Do 1a, match the words with the pictures(a-e). Ask the students to check the answers together.Step 6Listening Look at the picture on the book. Do 1b, listen and write the city names in the boxes. Ask a student to check the answer.Step 7A game Look at the weather in different cities. Ask them to describe the weather in each place. The teacher points to the cities, the students describe the weather like this: Guangzhou is sunny. The teacher says “If you can, stand up and say it out. Lets see who is the quickest.”Step 8Groupwork Ask the students to work in groups. Suppose they are the host/hostess of CCTV weather report. Give a weather report like the teacher. The teacher gives an example to students. Then ask them to act as the host/hostess. Five minutes for them. Then ask some students to come to the blackboard to report the weather report. Step 9Exercises Do two kinds of exercises in class. First, do by themselves. Then ask some students to check the answers. Check the answers to Exercise 2 together.Step 10Homework1. Ask students to watch the weather report on CCTV 4. Write down the weather in Tokyo, Sydn
