Peter Pan: The Boy Who Wouldnt Grow Up Peter Pan, is the books name, but also the boys name. This book has another name Peter and Wendy. It published in 1911, telling a story of Peter Pan, a mischievous little boy who can fly, and his adventures on the island of Neverland with Wendy Darling and her brothers, the fairy Tinker Bell, the Lost Boys, the Indian princess Tiger Lily, and the pirate Captain Hook. Peter Pan is a character created by Scottish novelist and playwright J. M. Barrie (18601937). A mischievous boy who can fly and magically refuses to grow up, Peter Pan spends his never-ending childhood adventuring on the small island of Neverland as the leader of his gang the Lost Boys, interacting with mermaids, Indians, fairies, pirates, and (from time to time) meeting ordinary children from the world outside. In addition to two distinct works by Barrie, the character has been featured in a variety of media and merchandise, both adapting and expanding on Barries works. Sir James Matthew Barrie, 1st Baronet, OM (9 May 1860 19 June 1937) was a Scottish author and dramatist, best remembered today as the creator of Peter Pan. The child of a family of small-town weavers, he was educated in Scotland. He moved to London, where he developed a career as a novelist and playwright. There he met the Llewelyn Davies boys who inspired him in writing about a baby boy who has magical adventures in Kensington Gardens (included in The Little White Bird), then to write Peter Pan, or The Boy Who Wouldnt Grow Up, a fairy play about this ageless boy and an ordinary girl named Wendy who have adventures in the fantasy setting of Neverland. This play quickly overshadowed his previous work and although he continued to write successfully, it became his best-known work, credited with popularising the name Wendy, which was very uncommon previously.1 Barrie unofficially adopted the Davies boys following the deaths of their parents. Before his death, he gave the rights to the Peter Pan works to Great Ormond Street Hospital, which continues to benefit from them. In his life,he has written many books. Barrie died of pneumonia on 19 June 1937 and is buried at Kirriemuir next to his parents and two of his siblings. He left the bulk of his estate (excluding the Peter Pan works, which he had previously given to Great Ormond Street Hospital) to his secretary Cynthia Asquith. His birthplace at 4 Brechin Road is maintained as a museum by the National Trust for Scotland. This story touch me so mush, because in my childhood, even now, I dont want to grow up. On chapter one, it read” All children, except one, grow up. They soon know that they will grow up, and the way Wendy knew was this. One day when she was two years old she was playing in a garden, and she plucked another flower and ran with it to her mother. I suppose she must have looked rather delightful, for Mrs. Darling put her hand to her heart and cried, Oh, why cant you remain like this for ever! This was all that passed between them on the subject, but henceforth Wendy knew that she must grow up. You always know after you are two. Two is the beginning of the end.” “Two is the beginning of the end”. Everyone should grow up. We must to say “Good bye” to our happy childhood and never come back. Peter didnt want to grow up, so he escaped. I want to escape, too. But I cant. I believe that many people want to escape as we all like to stay in the wonderful lives. If we always be a child, we would be protect forever. We neednt think too much, living in our own world without any big trouble. What a great life! I miss my childhood. I wish Neverland. Everyone must be familiar with the boy who doesnt want to grow up ,but J.M. Barries book provides an altogther more poignant tale of the lives of peter and the Lost Boys. Peter trying to stick his shadow back on with soap ,and teaching Wendy how to fly ,alongside the intricacies of fairy love and some scary adventures amongst pirates and redskins in the colourful world of Neverland. We all know characters like peter pan:irresponsible,forgetful,fiercrly independent and living only for the moment will they always stay the same.“As you look at Wendy, you may see her hair becoming white, and her figure little again, for all this happened long ago. Jane is now a common grown-up, with a daughter called Margaret; and every spring cleaning time, except when he forgets, Peter comes for Margaret and takes her to the Neverland, where she tells him stories about himself, to which he listens eagerly. When Margaret grows up she will have a daughter, who is to be Peters mother in turn; and thus it will go on, so long as children are gay and innocent and heartless.” At the end, everyone grow up, expect Peter. Maybe sometimes he feel lonely. Maybe not. Whatever, he will forger many things, sadness and happiness. Wendy as well as me, will remember him in a long long long time. There are many kids, imagine to play everyday, withour studying or growinb up. Peter Pan , was just a boy who want never to grow up. He lived in Neverland, like a heaven, there were sweet-sounding fairies, long-hair mermaid, never grown-up kids, mysterious Indians, terrible pirates, and crocodiles which can make a sound like dida.Howerer, colorful life couldnt replace Peters missing of his mother. So a girl named Wendy, who also want never to grow up, came into Neverland to become the kidsmother. They began the all kinds of adventure in Neverland.
