Develop students listening and speaking skills.IV 教学过程:Step1: Warm-up 1. Check the homework .2. Talking.T:What do you usually do on Sunday ?Ss:We usually do homework .Step2: Presentation1. Lead-in .Show some pictures on the screen. Ask the Ss to look at the pictures and talk about like this:T: What is she doing ?S1: She is doing her homework now .T: What are they doing ?S2: They are playing football now . T:Well .Today we will learn to talk about what people are doing .2.Teach Activity 1a .1) Let Ss to do and check the answers .1.i 2.d 3.g 4.a 5.h 6.e 7.b 8.c 9.f 2) Explain the meaning and use of some words and phrases :Watch TV 看电视 Watch ,see , look ,read 这四个词的区别 :Watch 观看,注视 He likes watching TV .Look 强调发出看的动作,不注重结果。 Look, there is a pen on the desk .See 强调“看”的结果 。 I can see some birds in the tree . Read 看,读 。 He is reading a book .2) Act the conversation out one by one use the picture1a .-What is the boy girl doing ?-He she is 3.Teach Activity 1b .1) Listen and finish 1b , then let four Ss write out their answers .2) Check the answers 4 Teach Activity 1c .First let Ss to read the example conversation and understand its main idea .Then put Ss into pairs to make conversations with the information abve .Give them enough time to do it .As they work ,move around the room checking the progress and offering language support as needed .Finally invite several pairs to act out for the whole class .S1:What is Jenny doing ?S2:She is watching TV .S3:What are Dave and Mary doing ?S4:They are eating dinner .Step 3 Practice 1. Listening (Activities 2a and 2d )First ,please have a quick look and try to known what and how to do these activities .Then listen the tape two times and finish them .After check the answers .Finally play the recording one more time for Ss to repeat .2.Pairwork .(Activity 2c )Give Ss several minutes to role- play the conversation in 2b .As they work ,move around the classroom offering pronunciation and intonation support as needed .Finally invite several pairs to act out for the whole class .Choose the best pair to praise .Step 4 Consolidation Teach Activity 2c .Lead Ss to read the conversation together .L et Ss role play .Step 5 Summary In this period ,we have learned how to talk about what people are doing and known the use of present progressive tense .
