Following a successful three-month training period in the United States, the 31-year-old will chase a third title on Sunday after her first victory in 2002 and again 12 months later.Radcliffe clocked a time 2:18:56 in her first 42.2-kilometre race three years ago.Afterwards she set a “mixed course” mark of 2:17:18 five months later in Chicago before lowering that to a time of 2:15:25 in the 2003 London event.1. Select a route which you can safely jog around for at least 20 minutes. It is a good idea if there are lampposts or something similar, to help you be able to split the route up into parts of approximately 2-3 lampposts in length. The idea is to walk for one part and slowly jog the next. Initially you might find that you can only jog 3 parts throughout your whole route, but by slowly increasing the number of jogging parts over the next few weeks, you will find the jogging parts become easier. Use the same route for the first four weeks so that you can visibly see the improvement. Before you know it you will both be jogging around your whole route.Take a water bottle with you and drink small sips of water the whole way around your circuit.Make sure you always carry out an enough warm-up before you start to jog, and a cool down during your last 10-15 minutes of exercise. Most importantly listen to your body. If you do not feel like exercising _, DONT. Take your time and gradually build up your task, improvement will come with the enjoyment!1
