Ss can master how to describe what sb. is doing.Ability Objectives:Train Ss listening skills and spoken English by talking about the weather and what people are doing.Moral Objectives:Believe in yourselves and enjoy the joy of learning English.Rainy or sunny , lets be happy.Teaching key points:Ss are able to master how to describe the weather and what people are doing using the key words and the target language.Teaching difficult points: Ss can express how to describe the weather and what people are doing correctly and practice making dialogues in English.Teaching methods: Task-based method; Listening and speaking; Pairwork; Groupwork; Situational method.Teaching aids: Textbook , A computer for multi-media use, Some cards.Teaching procedures: Teachers activitiesStudents activitiesStep :Warming up and Leading in.1.Greeting.2.Sing a song to lead in the new lesson.Ss greet the teacher and sing along with the music.设计意图(Intention):利用热情的问候和简单易学的歌曲尽快拉近与学生的距离,最大程度消除学生的紧张感与陌生感。Step . Revision (Vocabulary Show and Sentence Competition)1Review the key words about describing the weather.2.Review two sentences about asking the weather.3.Show some pictures and have Ss ask and answer in pairs.Ss have a brainstorm and say more words about describing the weather.Ss review how to ask the weather.Ss make short conversations using what and how questions.设计意图(Intention): 本环节的设置一方面训练学生的快速反应能力,另一方面培养学生认真倾听的良好习惯和合作精神;根据所给图片做小对话,可以培养学生快速捕捉图片信息的能力,同时达到有效复习和巩固重点词汇及目标语言的目的。Step . Listening Practice(Listening Test)1.Lead in and have Ss describe the pictures of 2a.2.Play the recording twice and have Ss finish 2a and 2b.3.Have Ss tell stories of Uncle Joes family in groups. Then tell it in front of the class.Ss answer the questions and listen carefully.Ss listen carefully and finish 2a and 2b. Ss tell stories in groups and then in front of the class. 设计意图(Intention):利用初中生活泼好动的年龄特点,运用转盘和讲故事的方式,既调动了学生参与课堂活动的积极性,又训练了学生的口语表达能力,同时为后面的环节做好了铺垫。Step .2d Task1: Have Ss watch two videos about making a phone call.
