Unit 7 Memory一、教材分析本单元围绕着“记忆”的话题来展开听、说、读、写的训练。教材围绕着几个学生对如何提高记忆力提出各自的观点载体,帮助学生如何提高记忆力。作为初二年级的学生,了解和如何提高记忆力对于提高学生的学习效率有一定的帮助。语法方面介绍由if 和unless引导的状语从句。并培养学生在完成一篇有关记忆角的故事尝试正确使用这些词。具体课型、课时安排如下:单元板块课时单元总课时全书总课时Reading2.588*8=64Listening0.5Grammar1.5Speaking0.5Writing0.5More practice1Study skills/Project1Culture corner and Self -assessment0.5二、教学对象分析1. 学生通过初一的学习,对工具书的使用有一定的了解,通过对百科全书的介绍和用法,提高学习的自学能力,有利于开展本单元的听、说、读、写任务。2. 学生在初一就已经接触过了some 和any 以及不定代词somebody, anybody, nobody的用法,本单元再通过系统地复习,在学习方式上引导学生学习归纳总结。三、单元教学目标1.认知目标: 学习水平学习内容学习水平的描述语音1Learn about the loss of plosion.。2. 能流利地朗读课文及与课文水平相当的短文,语音、语调、句子重音和停顿基本正确。词汇1. 重点词汇Memory, corner, lose, improve, mention, method, spelling, mind, silly, mile, letter, worth, spell, unless, trouble, list , step, cycle, similar, note, wallet, basket, manager,短语:take out, pour out , in ones mind, between.and. be worth doing/sth, have trouble( in )doing sth句型Useful sentences:1. If you make the picture big, strange or silly, you will remember it better.2.Remember; a picture is worth a thousand words.3A good method for remembering the spelling of a word is to make a short sentence with each letter of the word. 5You will forget something very quickly unless you understand it well.6.It is easy to remember these steps if you understand how the water cycle works. 语法1. Learn how to use conditional sentences.2. Learn how to use if not and unless.读(reading)1. Read some students articles about memory.2. 熟练朗读及背诵课文。3. 运用课文中所学,完成一篇有关记忆角的故事。听(listening)1.Listen to a two memory tests.说(speaking)1. Learn about the loss of plosion。2. Talk about your experience of remembering English words.写(writing)1.Complete a short story for Memory Corner.2. 能笔头回答课文内容提出的问题。3. 能用本单元学习的重点词汇、句型进行造句。2. 思想情感目标:1)通过谈论“交友”的相关话题,帮助学生快速适应新环境以及找到新朋友。2)结合课文的内容,引导学生通过邮件的形式结交更多的笔友,拓展自己的视野。3. 能力发展目标:1)能够在听、说、读、写等语言综合实践活动中运用本单元的重点词汇、句型与语法。2)在学习中提高交流和传递信息的能力,在写作中正确运用连词使文章更连贯和流畅。3)通过指导学生在模拟交际中运用所学的知识,培养学生探究学习、合作学习、自主学习的能力。四、单元教学重点1. 学生熟练掌握重点词语,词组及句型。2指导学生利用所学句型正确表达思想、进行交际活动。3指导学生归纳、总结数量词状语从句的用法,并在实践运用中熟练运用。五、单元教学难点1. 如何提高记忆力。2状语从句的归纳整理及运用。六、教学策略 1. 引导学生积极主动的通过预习完成可以自己学会的部分,课堂学习完成学习的重难点,通过复习及归纳总结完善单元的学习。2. 在教学中以旧带新,引导学生用正确的句子表达思想。 3. 适当补充与课文话题相关的内容,拓展学生的阅读视野。七、学习策略1初步接触略读(skimming)和找读(scanning)这两种阅读策略。2学会在阅读过程中通过上下文来猜测生词含义的方法。3关注对话中特殊疑问句的提问和相应的回答,以便准确记录相关信息。八、媒体的选择与设计1充分利用和发挥基本的教学媒体,如录音机,教师的body language、板书的作用。2适时、合理地使用多媒体,增大课堂的容量,更好地辅助教学。九、各课时教学内容安排建议课时教学内容及课型教学目标及简单教学环节设计第1课时Reading A 新授课一、定位: input-based,训练各种听与说的语言微技能,并给予阅读学习策略的指导,读为主。二、教学设计:Step 1 Warming up1. Ask ss to read the words in the list below for 30 seconds.Then close your book and write down as many words as you can remember.(Finish exercise A1.2.Ask Ask a few Ss the following questions about memory.(Disagree or agree)1). When you get old, your memory gets better.2). Making pictures in your mind helps you remember things.3). A man with a good memory can remember everyones telephone number.4). Tell Ss that they are going to do some listening exercises. Ask some of the Ss what they will do before listening.2. Learn the study tips with Ss by asking Ss to read the tips on their book carefully.(Pay attention to wh-questions when listening.3. Ask Ss to read the table on page 6 carefully and predict what kind of information they could fill in the blanks. Ss can discuss in groups and write down their answers with pencils.4. Ask Ss what they must pay attention to when they write. Eg: their spelling, the first letter of the word, how to write a number etc.Step 2 While-listening1. Play the recording for Ss to listen and complete the table.2. Play the recording again for Ss to listen and ask them to check their spelling.3. Step 4: Summary: ask the ss to conclude what weve learned today.Step 5 HomeworkFinish Students Times of Unit 7 listening exercise.第3课时language一、定位:input-based,训练各种读与说的语言微技在语言知识中的运用二、教学环节设计:状语从句 (Adverbial Clause) 状语从句指句子用作状语时,起副词作用的句子。它可以修饰谓语、非谓语动词、定语、状语或整个句子。根据其作用可分为时间、地点、原因、条件、目的、结果、让步、方式和比较等从句。状语从句一般由连词(从属连词)引导,也可以由词组引起。从句位于句首或句中时通常用逗号与主句隔开,位于句尾时可以不用逗号隔开。状语从句的时态特点一般情况下,时间和条件状语从句的谓语动词一般用“一般现在时”表示“一般将来时”,用“现在完成时”表示“将来完成时”。例如:I will call you as soon as I arrive in Beijing. 我到北京就将给你打电话。(这是由as soon as引导的时间状语从句,从句中的谓语动词arrive是一般现在时,表示一般将来时,绝不可用will arrive)As soon as I have finished this work, I will have gone home. 我一完成此工作,就回家。(从句中的谓语动词用现在完成时have finished,表示将来完成时,绝不可用will have finished)If he comes back, please let me know.如果他回来了,请通知我。(从句中的谓语动词用comes back,表示一般将来时,绝不可用will come back)时间状语从句常用引导词:when, as, while, as soon as, before, after, since , till, until,特殊引导词:the minute, the moment, the second, every time, the day,the instant, immediately , directly, no sooner than, hardly when, scarcely whenI didnt realize how special my mother was until I became an adult.直到我成为了一个成年人我才意识到我的母亲是多么的特殊。While John was watching TV, his wife was cooking.当约翰在看电视时,他的妻子正在做饭。The children ran away from the orchard(果园), the moment they saw the guard.孩子们从果园逃跑的那一刻看到了警卫。No sooner had I arrived home than it began to rain.还没等我到家就开始下雨了。Every time I listen to your advice, I get into trouble.每当我听取你的建议的时候,我就会惹上麻烦。条件状语从句常用引导词:if, unless,whether(whether.or not)特殊引导词:as/so long as, only if, providing/provided that, supposing that, in case that, on condition thatWell start our project if the president agrees.You will certainly succeed so long as you keep on trying.Provided that there is no opposition, we shall hold the meeting here.Exercise:1.
