Analysis of interpretation problems and solutionsInterpretation plays an important role in the trend of the economic globalization. According to the interpretation, different countries exchange their political views, build business relations, and disseminate native culture and technologies. Due to its significance, we have to analyse some problems existing in interpretation and find out the appropriate solutions, in order to enhance our ability of interpretation. In this essay, Ill divide the whole article in to three parts, the analysis of problems, the analysis of reasons and the relevant solutions. As for the problems, I find out three main shortages emerging in interpretation. Firstly, the faults in basic linguistic knowledge, they are the pronunciation mistakes morphology and disorder in sentence structure and grammar mistakes. Some interpreters who are not good at spoken English, have poor pronunciation. So the words spoken out from their mouth may not be understood by others. Sometimes even lead listeners to mixing up the words. Besides if the interpreters know little about grammar and sentence structure, they may also make mistakes in word form, tense, phrase partner, so these are formal problems in linguistic. The second problem is the abilities to competence and performance. Some interpreters have good writing English, who may be a good translator, they know well how to convey information through paper and how to translate a perfect sentence, however, they may not be good at to transforming information in foreign language. That is to say, their shortcoming is communicative competence. The over generalization, over simplification, and principled incompetence will make a big mistake during an interpretation. For example, if an interpreter conveys impolite and rude words which are spoken, then he may cause confliction between both parties involved. The third problem is associated with interpreters psychological problems. They are nervous, stage fright and self-distrust and diffidence. As we all know, a person without a strong and brave spirit can deal with nothing, in spite of one is at full preparation. So it is the same principle in interpretation. Trying to be confident and relaxed is most important in interpretation. Considering these problems, I analyse the causes as follows: the reason to cause the linguistic mistakes may be that the speakers cant apply the principle of the language using, who may not master the basic rule to use the language, their knowledge is limited in grammar, sentence structure and so on. The second reason is that different customers in both mother tongue and the foreign language. Someone finds it difficult to covert two different foreign languages in a short time. Then some use chinglish while others use sloppy English in their interpretation. The third reason may be that it is personal subjective factors in different leaning environment, educational background, psychological state. All of these differences can influence interpreters ability. In the last part of this article, Id like to talk about the resolutions. Firstly we should improve our abilities in using spoken English, practice our pronunciation, enlarge our vocabulary and master the basic knowledge of grammar, and sentence structure, then broaden our horizon, learn more in politic, economy, culture or other particular areas. Secondly, we need to get rid of the distraction caused by our mother tongue, train ourselves using the foreign language to think and talk. Then we need professional training to practice ourselves in interpreting circumstance. Next we need to rethink profoundly after an interpretation, so as to find out our shortcomings and mistakes, then to correct it and assure it will not happen again. Only in this way, can we become more professional. Last, we should overcome our nervousness, performance anxiety and control personal emotion. By the means of autosuggestion, we remind ourselves to be confident and relaxed, then to practice more in the teal interpretation scene. The more practice, the more skills you will gain.
