Portable Air-Compressor Tester便携式空气压缩机测试仪Within the operations and maintenance activities of the natural gas industry and many other industries the air compressor is often the key component of the operation. Without properly maintained and calibrated compressors, cost and productivity are at risk. However, compressor testing at the job site, away from a maintenance center, has been impossible in most situations. By allowing for sophisticated, but routine, testing on site, operations will be more efficient and less costly. On-site testing helps to ensure that air-powered (pneumatic) tools operate safely, reliably, and at their optimal efficiencies. Testing data could be used to make decisions on the replacement or repair of hoses, connections, compressors, or engine controls. 目的KeySpan和GTI的共同目的是为公用行业和其它应用,设计、建造和现场测试一个低成本、易于携带的空气压缩机测试仪。仪器必须满足在站点一般和特殊的需要,操作运行应该高效和廉价。站点测试帮助确认气动(空气的)工具操作的安全性、可靠性和最佳效率。测试数据被用于决定更换或修理软管、连接件、压缩机或引擎控制等。BackgroundInefficient or improperly maintained compressors and leaking hoses can lower the performance of pneumatic tools used in the field. While technology has already been developed through GTI and others to measure the effectiveness of the tools, researchers recognized the need for a system to test the air-delivery systems in the field to measure a compressors flow rate and pressure. 背景效果不好的或不合适的维护压缩机和有泄漏的软管都降低在现场使用的气动工具的作用。随着技术的发展,通过GTI和其它单位评估工具的效率,研究者认为需要一套测试现场空气传输系统的系统,以测量压缩机的流速和压力。ApproachGTI researchers designed a tester to measure the pressure and airflow output of air compressors in the field at the connection to the pneumatic tool. The portable, hardshell-suitcase-enclosed tester has been evaluated for its record-keeping abilities, accuracy, precision, reliability, ease of use, maintenance, and cost. A fully instrumented prototype was developed in 2000-01, and laboratory tested on a compressor with a conventional electronic mass flow meter and high-precision pressure gauge attached to ensure that the tester accurately measures the flow and pressure reaching the tool. The product has since been modified for full field use. The rugged, portable air-compressor tester includes all the equipment necessary for accurate compressor evaluations in the field.Features of the portable air-compressor tester include: Low cost (one-third the cost of standard electronic mass flow meters) The incorporation of all needed components in a durable, easily transportable, inexpensive kit Easy-to-read visual measurement gauges for reading pertinent performance parameters Muffler and valve arrangement for flow regulation and noise limitation Simple slide-chart calculation method A method for record taking and maintaining test results Operation without the need for batteries.With the tester, utility crews simply disconnect the air hose from the pneumatic tool, and connect the tester in its place at the upstream side of the kit. A muffler and valve arrangement is attached to the downstream side of the tester. The valve to the tester is closed, the air compressor is turned on, and the valve is opened until the pressure gauge reaches the desired value.
