Soliloquy in Hamlet The 1st soliloquy (I. ii): After the funeral and the wedding, both Claudius and Gertrude try to comfort Hamlet and ask him to stay with them in Denmark instead of going back to Wittenberg, Germany; Hamlet agrees and Claudius decides to celebrate. O God! God!
