What could Yu Gong do instead of moving the mountains?2) 能够用英语询问故事的开始、发展及后续等。能够对故事中的人物或情节发表一些简单的看法或观点。2.过程与方法目标:学生通过听录音理解材料内容,培养语感,通过角色朗读锻炼口语和组织能力,加深对课本知识点的记忆和理解,并学会把所学知识运用到实践当中。3. 情感态度价值观目标: 学生在以后的生活中能学习愚公移山的精神,不管什么时候都能不惧怕挫折,凭借自己的毅力去挑战困难。二、教学重难点1. 教学重点:1) 掌握本课时中出现的生词:happen,remind, sothat, instead of,opinion; 2) 学会询问故事发展的基本句型:How does the story begin?What happened next? 3)学会表达故事中的人物或情节,并发表一些简单的看法或观点。 What do you think of / about the story of Yu Gong? I still dont agree with you. 2. 教学难点:学会表达故事中的人物或情节,并发表一些简单的看法或观点。三、教学过程Step 1 Lead in 1由教师提问“Do you know some famous stories in China? ”,并出示学生所熟悉的寓言故事的图片让学生回答,激起兴趣,出示寓公移山的图片,导入本单元主题。Step 2 Presentation 1.Teachthenewwords2.Trytorememberthenewwords. Step 3 Writing1. Look at the pictures in 1a, then read the names of the story in the box.2. Ss discuss with their partners and match the names of the stories with the pictures. Listen and see who know the name of the story. 2. Play the recording for the Ss to listen. 3. Ss who know the name of the story may hand up. 4. Play the recording again. Read the questions in the box in 1c. 2. Ss discuss the questions with their partners. 3. Let some pairs ask and answer the questions. e.g. A: How does the story happen? B: There were two very tall mountains in front of their house. A: What happened next?B: A very old man tried to move the mountains. A: Where would they put all the earth and stone from the mountains? B: They would put them into the sea. 4. main points:happened 是happen 的过去式,vi.发生;碰 巧。 happen 的用法: sth. happen to sb. 表示“某人出了某事”, 常指不好的事。Eg:A car accident happened to her this morning. sb. happen to do 表示某人碰巧做了某事。I happened to out when Linda called me yesterday. sth. happened + 地点/时间,表示某地/某时发生了某事,此时主语是物。Step 6 Listening Work on 2a: T: Lets continue to listen to the story. 1. Look at the pictures in 2a. Discuss the things they are going to do. When you listen to the story, please number the pictures. 2. Play the recording for the Ss to listen and number the pictures. 3. Play the recording again to check the answers. Work on 2b: 1. Let Ss read the sentences below. Explain some main sentences for the Ss. Make sure they know what to do. 2. Play the recording for the Ss to circle the correct words in the brackets. 3. Play the recording again to check the answers. Answers: 1. children 2. weak 3. talking 4. two 5. know 4. so that 的用法1)引导目的状语从句时,意为“以便,为了”, 从句中常使can/could/may/might/will/would/should等情态动词或助动词。(2)引导结果状语从句时,意为“因此,所以”,从句中一般不用can和may等词,so that前可以用逗号。5. This story reminds us that you can never know whats possible unless you try to make it happen. remind v. 提醒;使想起 remind sb. of/about sth. 提醒某人想起某事 e.g. The picture reminds him ofhis beautiful hometown.这幅画让他想起了美丽的故乡。remind sb. to do sth. 提醒某人去做某事e.g. Please remind me to come back early.请提醒我早点回来。Step 7 Pair work 1. Tell Ss to make a story chain. Ss tell the story one by one with the pictures in 2a. 2. Let some Ss tell the story to the class. 3. See which groups story is better. Step 8 Role-play 1. Read the conversations and Let Ss read after the teacher. 2. Ask Ss to role-play the conversation in groups. Some main points: (1).Really? I think its a little bit silly. It doesnt seem very possible to move a mountain. seem 此处作连系动词,意为“似乎;好像” 形容词possible作表语,它们之间构成了系表结构 seem = seem to be 似乎,好像 seem的三种常用结构:seem (to be)+形容词seem (to be)+名词seem +不定式以上seem的三个结构都可以用“It seems +that从句”作同义转换。u He seems (to be) very clever. = It seems that he is very clever. 他看起来很聪明。u Li Leis mother seems (to be) a teacher. = It seems that Li Leis mother is a teacher. 李雷的妈妈好像是一名教师。u I seemed to hear a voice outside. = It seemed that I heard a voice outside.我好像听见外边有说话声。 (2) But what could Yu Gong do instead of moving the mountains? instead of 是复合介词,后接名词、代词、动词的-ing形式或介词短语等,意为“代替,作为的替换”。instead与instead of 只有一词之差,但在用法上区别很大。instead是副词,意为“代替”,在句中只能用作状语。Exercise: If time is enough, do some more exercise. 1.
