Topics:1. What do you miss most in your home?2. Which one do you prefer, on-line education or traditional education? As far as I am concerned, on-line education will replace the traditional education.Because the world is changing and we should accept something new. On-line education has many advantages over traditional education.for example,we can save a lot of time when we study on line, the only thing we should do is to boot up our computer. 3. What do you think are the characteristics of a good teacher?A good teacher:- understands the subjects they teach thoroughly- is able to explain details clearly- is patient with slow learners- is fair when grading- teaches because they love it, not just to collect a paycheck- knows how to efficiently divide their time among the students- uses intelligent students to assist when necessary- prepares for the next days lesson- tries to make the lessons interesting for the students- monitors the progress for each student- communicates with parents, guardians, and other teachers4. Every one has some goals, describe one of your goals。One of the most important goals is to pass the entrance examination of postgraduate for which I am parpering.so I can have more time and opportunity to learn more about computer, then I will have a good knowledge of computer science and technology.5. Do you agree or disagree: people should always tell the truth?对于讨论题一个小组的成员要分好工,有人唱红脸有人唱黑脸,for example lets have a free talk.once my friend asked me if people should always tell the truth .in my opinion, people should always tell the truth because its one of the basic characters a good person should have 然后举例子so whats your opinion .记住讨论题不要光自己说每个人都说都参与你的份才会高。but i cant agree with u u know sometimes we need some white lies(美丽的谎言),in order to make someonedream come true举个例子我记得有过一个小孩身患重病眼也看不见想去北京看升旗,周围的人就变了一个美丽的谎言。还有we cant tell lies to our parents and we cant tell the truth to those bad people as well well we all have own opinoins, maybe sometimes we need some white lies but most of the time we should be honest and tell the truth .As for me,it depends on different situations. When I was a child, for example,we are poor.My mom always did her best to keep me from hungry. When I ask whether she is hungry ,she lie to me.I really appericate it.but when we live with our roommates, I think we should tell the truth. It is really important6. Who do you admire most? why?I would also say dad, father to 2 children.he did everything he could to brought us up,so that we could eat, so that we had clothes, so that we could have what we needed. He tought me and my sister how to behave well.I think he is the best father in the world.7. Long-term contact and first impression, which do you think can help you best to know a person? why?I think long-term contact can help me best to know a person.Because we cant know a person well from the first impression.everyone of us can behave well as long as we intend to.Through long-term contact,we can know everything about the person with which we are getting along. It is very important for us to know the person around us through long-term contact8. Which one do you prefer? To live alone or with roommates? For me, I would rather live with several roommates with the following reasons. life is more colorful and exciting with our roommates. We live together and we can talk。Secondly, dorm is a great place to build deep friendship with your roommates. To some extent, dorm is our small home in university, no matter happy or sorrow, we live there。Last but not the least, having roommates to live together is benefit for us to learn how to get along well with others and try to understand others better. In that case, we can build a approachable character and become more friendly and easy-going.9. Describe the most important object to you?As for me, My computer is the most important object to me.I am major in computering technology and science in the university.and I am interested in computer,At present I need computer to study ,I need computer to amuse and in the future I need computer to work with.So I can not live without my computer.10. Novel, magazine or poem, which one do you prefer?11 Leisure Activities (eg. Physical Exercise-Outdoor or Indoor?)People who work indoors and spend most of their time sitting and doing sedentary office work can add physical activity to their lives by doing sports during their leisure time, such as playing a ball game, going camping, hiking or fishing. On the other hand, people whose jobs involve a lot of physical activity may prefer to spend their free time doing quiet, relaxing activities, such as reading books or magazines or watching TV. Some people find that collecting stamps, postcards, badges, model cars, planes or ships, bottles, or antiques are relaxing hobbies.Free time is organized in many schools and institutions. Schools may offer many extracurricular activities including hobby groups, sports activities, and choirs. Other institutions such as retirement homes and hospitals also offer activities such as clubs and meetings for playing games or simply organized periods for conversation. Most people enjoy socializing with friends for dinner or a drink after a hard day at work. For many young people, having a regular night out a week is a normal part of their free time, whether it is joining friends for a drink in a pub, dining out in a restaurant, watching a film, playing video games or dancing at a club. Some people do leisure activities that also have a longer-term goal. In some cases, people do a leisure activity that they hope to turn into a full-time activity (e.g., volunteer paramedics who hope to eventually become professional paramedics). Many people also study part-time in evening university or college courses, both for the love of learning, and to help their career prospects.12. University Life (eg. Student Accommodations) Time spent at a university is a most worthwhile period in a young persons life. This is a time when a student begins to form his or her ideas about life in general. Attending classes and studying in the library keep a student busy and provide him or her with access to valuable information, adding to his or her knowledge base. Campus life can also be rich and colorful. Most universities offer a variety of extracurricular activities such as sports events, contests, and other social gatherings, enabling the students to experience relief from study and homework. Students often form lifelong friendships through the varied experiences of university life. During the time a student spends at university, he not only develops his intellectual abilites,he also develops social skills as well as knowledge and wisdom necessary for choosing a future career. By learning how to balance intense study and recreation, a student will be well prepared for the challenges of future responsibilities.13. TV Programs (TV Commercials)14. The Ideal Job (Working for a Company)There are various kinds of jobs in the world, but different people are attracted by different jobs because everyone has his own interest and destination, Many people consider an ideal job as a means of making more money and living more comfortably, It may sound reasonable because money is the foundation of life. As far as my ideal job is concerned, I think I want to be a psychologist, I have made up my mind to do what I really want to so that I can realize my ideal, I believe interest is of the utmost importance in choosing a job, I have been interested in psychology for a long time, so I want to be a psychologist in the future, I think being a psychologist can help lots of people lead a happier life. However, it isnt easy for me to become a qualified psychologist and many people around me think that its unrealistic to me. NevertheLess, Ill make every effort to gain much more knowLedge, patience, methods, etc. To live up to The name of a qualified psychologist. I believe my dream will come true someday. 15. Campus Life (College Curriculum)16. Views on Life (Making Friends)17. Campus Life (Parttime Jobs) tutor18. Holidays (Week-Long Holidays)19. Information and Modem Life (Mass Media)20. Traffic and Transportation (Traffic Accidents)21. Higher Education in China (Difference Between Studying at Home and Abroad)22. Environmental Protection (Pollution in Cities) Some people think that the urgent task is to develop economy on a large scale. First, they hold that many people are living in poverty and cant afford the basic schooling for their children, who often have to drop out of school halfway. Second, the believe only by further develop our economy can we strike a balance between the developed east and the developing west and finally we help the poor get rid of poverty and gain an overall prosperity. On the other hand, there are many people who insist that environment protection should be a top priority. First, they claim that we have only one mother earth. If our ecological environment is heavily polluted or ruined, we could not even survive on this planet. Second, they believe that its the rapid and advanced development of economy that leads to many of the serious problems we are facing today, including the awful pollution of our environment. If the problem is left unsolved, we may soon have no water fit to drink, no clean air to breathe, let alone develop our economy. In my opinion, both economy and environmental protection are our urgent tasks now. Without economic development, we would remain backward and be conquered by other nations. And without environmental protection, we would lose our chance of survival. Therefore, the best solution is to develop environmental protection oriented industries and agriculture so as to kill two birds with one stone.23. Reading Selectively or ExtensivelyReading Selectively or Extensively?Books are like food for the mind.People who dont read are no better of than people who cant read.In my viewpoint, we should read both selectively and extensively. The two reading ways have their respective roles in our reading. We can read selectively for specialized knowledge, or read widely for general information. Therefore, the combination of the two methods is more reasonable.范文2 Reading Selectively or Extensively? As the source of knowledge, books play an important role in our life. They not only make a full man, but also promote the development of society. However, among so many books in the world, should we read selectively or extensively? Some people hold that we should read selectively. To begin with, life is limited, and it is impossible for us to read all kinds of books. Second, not all the books can benefit us. Some kinds of books, such as cartoon books, popular novels and magazines only can entertain us and make us feel relaxed in our spare time. Third, everyone has special interest, so while reading we could select different books according to our personal interests. However, some believe otherwise. They maintain that in modern society, people are supposed to have more knowledge than their ancestors to cope with tougher problems. Besides, the society is developing faster and faster, if we confine our knowledge only to our major or our study field, we couldnt keep up with the changes around us. Even we may feel puzzled about what is happening in this modern world. So some people suggest we read extensively so as to get much more knowledge and not to become a person like Rip Van Winkle. As far as Im concerned, I think wed better read both selectively and extensively. Thus, we can not only become a knowledgeable person in our own field, but also become a well-informed and qualified modern man.37. Competition and CooperationCompetition and Cooperation Competition is common in every field of life. For example, the Olympic Games is the most famous competition in the world. Also there is the competition for jobs, for promotion, for customers, and so on. We can say, in a certain sense, competition stimulates peoples interest in work and helps society to go forword. We often find that competition goes hand in trend with cooperation. While we advocate competition, we cannot forget cooperation. Human beings are social beings. No one can exist alone in the society. If you want to play the game well, you have to play with others. You cannot play single-handed and win. You have to cooperate with your playmates, who may make the social ladder for you to climb to the top. From cooperation we get mutual help and understanding. With cooperation the world is progressing at peace and in harmony.38. Clubs and Organizations on Campus39. The Reform of TeachingTEACHING REFORM? Teaching reform is central to the whole work of teaching. The reform aims to create a reasonable make-up of specialties, develop a flexible talent cultivation system and raise the University to the worlds top level. Bearing this in view, the University has devised fundamental policy in undergraduate teaching reform, that is, to pay attention to quality education, improve capability, consolidate the knowledge foundation, broaden specialties, foreground innovation and promote teaching quality. In order to deepen the reform, the University not only encourages its faculty to participate in curriculum construction and teaching reform projects on National and Municipal levels, but also sets up school-wide teaching reform projects. The University has included the bilingual teaching program in its projects for two times. By far, many teaching reform programs have been accomplished and put into teaching practice. In addition, the University has set up Students Scientific Research Innovation Fund and invests 1,000,000 RMB per year in involving undergraduates into the Hundred Projects for the purpose of carrying out innovation education geared toward developing undergraduates innovation awareness and capability.40. Increased College Enrollmentin resent years, there has been a steady increase in college enrollment. To many high school students, its definitely good news. For they would have more chance of recieving higher education. you dont have to look very far to find out adventages of the increased college enrollment.for one thing,it lessens the worries of both the high school graduates and their parents.besides, the increased college enrollment can help to raise the educational level of our nations.whats more ,the increased college enrollment can provide more students with specialized knowledge, thus serving the countrys development in a potive way. on the other hand,we can not deny that there are some potential problems about the increased college enrollment.to begin with, with the increased number of students, the shortage of teaching staff and facilities becomes clearly seen.worst of all,the increased college enrollment leads to increased competition in the job maket. above all, the government should keep the increased college enrollment in a moderate and proper rate. it is not an easy job to tell whether tendency should be absolutely encouraged .as to me,it is laudable to grant more students higher educations. but a college degree is by no means a guarantee for a better job or a brighter future.to cast a promising career,we need a lot little abilities which we can not learn from college. With the fiecre competiton in the society, one person who get more skills and knowledge would get more chances to win in the competition. Therefore, College Enrollment would be the fastest and more direct way to achieve the goal. However, there would be other methods to accomplish the skills and study learning, including Special skills teaching institution or involving in the society jobs to accumulate experience of more skills and knowledge. As for the prior one, I think it would be the most common way for young students who just graduated from HighSchool. They didnt acknowledge enough skills in high school so that they couldnt survive in this bitter world. Then the best way to them is to as one member of that kind of institutions. But as far as we know, most graduate from that kind of institutions will not reach a higher level in a rapid speed. Ordinarilly, they have to fight for the hard life and job for a few years then some of them may successed or some of them may down in the society.According to this serious situation, we have no rejection to say that the college enrollment is increasing.41. Safety On CampusSafety on CampusAvoid crime and stay safe on a US college campus.Crime occurs everywhere even on college campuses.Even so, safety on campus is possible by taking a few easy steps and knowing what resources are available. That way you can stay safe at all times of the day and decrease your risk of theft or another crime.Calling for Help on CampusMany colleges and universities
