Good morning, ladies and gentlemen: Im XX. I come from English Teaching, Class Five. The lesson that I am going to teach is Unit 2 “What time do you go to school?” Section B. It is for Junior 1 students. And it is taken from “Go for it”. And now Ill share my teaching ideas from the following ten aspects.Part one: Analysis of Teaching Material Now, lets start with the first part: Analysis of Teaching Material. 2b in section B is a reading article. This article talks about both Tonys and Marys healthy and unhealthy habits. It is arranged after the students have learned some phrases of daily activities and the expressions of time. The students would be very interested in this lesson, because it is closely related to their daily life. Part two: Description of the Students Part two is Description of the Students. The students in my class are from Junior 1. They are about 13 years old. Up to now, most of them have learned English more than one year. So, most of them have a basic knowledge in English.Part three: Teaching Theory Then is Teaching Theory. Language is for communication. Reading is for information, for fun. Reading teaching focuses on developing students reading skills and strategies , get them to understand the western culture better. It also maintains students motivation for reading, which can be achieved through pre-, while-, and post- reading activities. Part four: Teaching Aids The fourth one is Teaching Aids. They are multi-media, PPT, chalk and the blackboard. Part five: Teaching Methods In part five, two teaching methods are employed: Communicative Language Teaching and Task-based Language Teaching. In CLT with different reading purposes, students use different reading skills. For example, the students will use skimming to get the general idea of the text. During the class, I will give the students some tasks to finish, that is TBLT. Such as, to seek for specific information in limited time through silent reading or discussing with his/her partner. That is “Learning by doing, learning by using”. Let the students be the masters of the class teaching. Part six: Key Points and Difficulties At the beginning, the students may feel a little difficult to use skimming and scanning to slove problems. So, I attach more importance on this part. Besides, there are several new words, phrases and sentences for the students to master.Part seven: Teaching Aims I divide this part into three main aspects. First , language aims. By the end of the class, the students will be able to master the new words, phrases and several difficult sentences. Such as, taste,either.or. Then , ability aim. After class, the students will be able to talk about or write about their daily routines by using some simple sentences. Lastly , moral aim. Make the students aware of both the healthy and unhealthy habits.Part eight: Teaching ProceduresLead-in (Free talk) Greet the students as usual.Pre-readingStep 1.Revision Provide the students with some phrases of daily activities and ask them to put the phrases in healthy and unhealthy groups, thus, helping the students to review these phrases.Step 2. New words studyIn this step, there are two new words to learn: quickly and sometimes. Through this step, it make the students feel easier to learn the new article. While-readingStep 1.Skimming Ask the students to read the passage roughly in one minute to get the main idea of the text. By doing this task, the Ss can practice a new reading skill, that is ,skimming for the main idea. Step2.ScanningA.Yes/No Questions Ask the students to read the passage carefully in six minutes and finish the “Yes/No Questions” and then hold a group game to check the answers.B.Wh-questions Ask the students to read this passage once more in four minutes and finish the Wh-questions. Through this step, the Ss can have a better understanding of the whole passage.Post-readingStep 1. Exercise 2c Ask the Ss to finish exercise 2c on page 11. Write down the unhealthy habits of both Tony and Mary. Then think of healthy activities for them. Through this exercise, the Ss can have a deeper understanding of the reading article. They can aware that everyone has healthy and unhealthy habits. The most important point is to get rid of the unhealthy ones.Step 2.Gap-filling Provide the students with a summary of the text, leaving some blanks for the students to fill in. Through filling the blanks, the Ss can memorize some important words or phrases in the text. Step 3. Difficult sentences analysisThrough this step, the students can master the language points better.Homework(3b on page12) Let the students write a short composition about their own daily routines. About 60 words. There is no writing tasks involved during the whole class. By writing a short composition of ones own daily routine, the Ss practise some phrases, expressions of time and so on.Part nine: Blackboard DesignUnit 2 What time do you go to school?Section B(2a-2c)healthy activiti
