Correct their pronunciation and intonation.Give students several minutes to practice reading and make sentences with them.Later, show the word cards, ask students to spell and explain their meanings with textbook closed.2.Teach Activity 1a.This activity aims to check if students have mastered the new vocabulary.First, invite a student to read the four words and explain their meanings.Then, ask students to look at the pictures in 1c to match letters with these words.Later, check the answers.Step PracticeTeach Activity 1b&1c.These two activities provide practice to develop students listening ability.First, lead students to have a quick look at the instructions to know what to do and how to do them.Show the pictures on the screen, prompt students to say what they can see in the pictures and what the story is about.Encourage students to speak as much as they can.After that, play the tape twice for them to listen.The first time, they need to listen carefully and number the pictures.The second time, they have to fill in the blanks as they hear.Play one more time for them to check the answers.finally, check the answers together.Step consolidateTeach Activity 1d.Invite some students to tell the stories.Call attention to the tense.Prompt other students to point out the mistakes and check them if any.Finally, choose a best work as the sample.
