Unit7 Would you mind turning down the music?(人教版八年级英语下) 东明县长兴一中 邢海修一、本课时整体设计理念及思路:该单元是八年级下册的第七单元,主题是如何更礼貌的提建议,主要功能项目是提建议的学习以及如何作出合适的回答。明确提出: 本课程倡导任务型的教学模式,要求教师应该避免单纯传授语言知识的传统教法,尽量使用任务型的教学途径.在这一理念的指引下,我确定本课教学的任务是让学生主动地学习和运用语言,使他们产生强烈的学习动机,从而使其成为自主的学习者.复习前面学过的表达礼貌的请求方式,然后过渡到本课时新的内容。就从他们的日常生活谈起,询问他们周末在家干什么,这样不会很唐突。接着围绕着这一主题安排了听、说、读、写的活动任务让学生在这些环节中学会用更加礼貌的请求方式“Would you mind doing things ?”“Would you mind not doing things?” 以及表示歉意的回答Sorry ,Not at all / Ill do it right away 等,最后的作业落实到学生的日常生活当中,如果邻居也有类似的情况,我们也就可以像这样礼貌的写一封信,把知识运用到实际生活中,达到学以致用的目的。二、 学情分析及教学策略本课话题来自学生的生活经历,在八年级上册UNIT 11学生已经学习了许多动词短语,为表达提供了语言基础。此外,学生已掌握了用祈使句和Can you?/could you 及Could you please提出请求, 为本课的学习打下了铺垫。具有了学习本单元知识的认知前提,能自然的与本单元的话题衔接。但是,在语法上也就容易形成混淆。同时,本单元是关于礼貌性的话题,内容贴近生活,学生比较容易进入角色。因而,教师在课堂中应通过大量的生活场景图片来促使学生积极地参与,在任务型教学活动中,使学生有话想说,有话可说,在完成各项任务的过程中自主学习语言,提高他们综合运用语言的能力,学会更好地与他人沟通,使各层次的学生都有所收获。今天我上的课是Unit 7 Would you mind turning down the music? 这一单元的第一课时.本单元以向他人提出抱怨和礼貌请求为话题,通过向他人提出抱怨和礼貌请求以及做出回答,来练习would you mind doing 这一语言结构,让学生学会使用恰当的语言与他人交往.在学习中通过与他人对话,合作探究,学会合作,学会交往,学会做人.三、教材内容、目标、重难点与方法的分析Teaching content(教学内容)Section A 1a 1b 1cTeaching (目标)(一)、Knowledge objective(知识目标)1. New words: litter, spit, yard, smoke, polite, impolite,laugh 2. Phrases: turn down, clean the yard, not at all, right away 3. Sentences: Please . . . . Would /Could you please . . . ? -Would you mind . . . ?-No, not at all. Ill do it right away.-Would you mind not . . . ?-Im sorry, I wont do it again.(二)、Ability objective(能力目标)1. Learn to make requests in polite ways: Please . . . . Would /Could you please . . . ? Would you mind . . . ?2. Know how to answer politely: No, not at all. Ill do it right away.Im sorry, I wont do it again.3. Express their feeling about things that they have seen. 4. Practice their listening and oral English. (三)、Moral objective(情感目标)1. Because they usually ask for help in their life, they are interested in this topic , it can improve their interest. 2. How to ask for help and help others when they are in trouble, and how to give suggestions when they have impolite behavior. c. Solve problems politely in their lives .Importance:(重点)Practice these conversations in pairwork,talking,listening,wrting-Would you mind . . . ?-No, not at all. Ill do it right away.-Would you mind not . . . ?-Im sorry, I wont do it again.Difficulty:(难点)Understand these two sentences: Would you mind ? Would you mind not ?And how to answer correctly.Method(教学方法): the Task-Pattern Teaching Method, Situational Teaching Method ,games teaching approach, pairwork自主、合作、探究学习法Aids(教具): the Multiple Media, the paper and the Microphone四、教学步骤(Teaching steps)Step1.Warming up(热身运动)(4分钟)1Greet the students of the everyday English.2Say:Today is , May .On. we must have classes at school. But on weekends ,on Saturdays and Sundays , we are at home . What do you usually do at home ?Ss think it over , then let some give their answers .( They must say they watch TV, if not , ask them)T: Do you watch TV? Do you like watching TV?Ss say “Yes”. Then play the computer for them to watch.T: In the movie what are they doing ?Ss: They are smoking and drinking.T; Where are they ?Ss; They are in the classroom.T: Can they smoke ? Can they drink?Ss: No.T: We should ask them not to smoke/drink. How to say politely?Maybe they will say : Please dont smoke/drink. Could/ Would you please not smoke/drink?If they cant , give them key words.To revise these sentences: Please dont smoke/drink. Could/ Would you please not smoke/drink?(先复习学生在家通常都做什么家务活动,然后自然过渡到在家看电视,因为他们都喜欢看电视,播一段电视节目逃学威龙。复习礼貌的请求方式提出建议)Step2.Presentaion(介绍新课内容)(10分钟)1.Lead in ( 4分钟)T: Do you like music? Lets listen to a song. (Play the music) Do you like it ?Ss: Yes.T: Listen to another one , OK? (Play the music too loudly) Do you like this one?Ss: No, it is too loud.T: If sb plays the music too loudly, what will you say, politely?Ss: Please turn down the musicCould /Would you please turn down the music?T: They are polite ways . Today we learn a very polite way. Would you mind turning down the music? Get them to know the meaning .Ask them to repeat one by one. Make sure all of them can read.T: How to answer politely?Help: No, not at all. Ill do it right away. (write down)Also get them to repeat one by one.(接着问他们在家听音乐吗,放一段很吵又很大声的音乐,结果他们肯定都不喜欢,用前面的句型复习一遍,并教短语turn down,最后引出新句型 Would you mind?)2.Present-Would you mind . . . ? (3分钟)Show some pictures to practice the conversation.-Would you mind taking out the trash/ doing the dishes/cleaning the yard/ making the bed/ moving the bike/ listening to the teacher ?-No, not at all. Ill do it right away.Ss read in teams or in pairs.(出示图片练习肯定句型,学生分组或男生女生操练)3.Present-Would you mind not . . . ? ( 3分钟)Show one picture to present the conversation.-Would you mind not not smoking?-Im sorry, I wont do it again.T: Whats the man doing?Ss: He is smoking .T: Can he smoke here ?Ss:No.T: So how to say politely?Ss: Would you mind not smoking? ( understand “not”)T: How to answer?Ss(help): Im sorry, I will not=wont do it again.Write down and get them to know the meaning and repeat it.Show some pictures to practice the conversation-Would you mind not not smoking?/ playing basketball here /listening to the music/not sleeping in class? -Im sorry, I wont do it again.Ss read between boys and girls or in pairs.(操练否定句型)Step3. Pairwork(两个人活动)(6分钟)Show pictures for them to practice in pairs.Walk round to see if they need some help.Would you mind . . . ?-No, not at all. Ill do it right away.-Would you mind not . . . ? -Im sorry, I wont do it again.Them get boy pairs and girl pairs to work out.Write down the result on the Bb. Have a competition.(给出图片,让他们操练句型包括肯定和否定,提示注意肯定与否定)Step4. 1a ,1b(课本内容)(3分钟)Show the picture and explain the main idea.Ask them to match the sentences with the right picture. Check answers.Get them go through the sentences before listening. Number them,Play the tape for them to do it . Check answers at once.(过渡到课文,很简单一笔带过)Step5. Tasks(任务活动)(15分钟)Task.1 Talk about the things in the classroom. ( 3分钟)T: This is my school, in the classroom they usually do these things . How to ask them politely?Together: Would you mind (not)?Go on having a competition.(拓展到课外生活,学生的课后活动,讨论哪些是礼貌行为,哪些是不礼貌行为,以及如何礼貌性的提出建议)Task.2 Talk about the things on the bus (3分钟)T: Today I came here by bus. On the bus I took a photo. Please look at the photo. What are they doing?Help: The girl is eating and littering , the man is talking loudly on the phone, another man is smoking, the boy is spitting, the two young people are talking and laughing loudly.T: Are they right ?Ss: No. Help: They are impolite.T: How to say politely to them? Would you mind (not) . . . ? (do an action)Go on having a competition between boys and girls.(过渡到日常生活,如果我们坐车,是否遇到过类似的情况,该如何提出建议,用刚学过的句型)Task.3 Talk and write-about my neighbor (3分钟)T: These days I have a new neighbor. But he usually makes much noise, so I am angry. I want to say sth to him. How should I say to them?Together: I should say politely. Would you mind (not) . . . ?Again have a competition between boys and girls.After they talk , get them to write down on the paper.Show two answers to the class, a boy and a girl read for the class. ( competition)(再到我们的邻居生活,我们经常会遇到邻居很吵的情形,该怎么跟他们表达我们的想法)Task.4 Interview(课外延伸采访活动) (6分钟)T: You know Im not your teacher, so I dont know much about you . Now I want to interview you . Show the PowerPoint to them and explain how to interview. Do one with a student as an example, using the Microphone.Then ask one boy reporter and one girl reporter.Go on having a competition.Show the final result between the boys and the girls.(综合运用能力,把上述几个方面和在一起,才访他们平时都会怎么做,如有不对的地方该如何指正)Step6. Sing a song-Would you mind (not).?(唱歌)(2分钟)Show the words for them and tell them that the melody is the same to the “Happy Birthday To You ” , then play the music to listen carefully. First they learn to sing by themselves , next girls first boys second, finally together.T: If you like it , after class you can sing it, but not too loudly.(与标题呼应,给他们听一首
