Students can use “while”and “when”correctly .教学过程Step 1 Warming-up 1. Ask “What is he/ she doing in the picture?”by showing some pictures on the screen to review the Present Progressive Tense.2. Choose the right form of “be” to fill in the blanks. When they choose, remind them to pay attention the time in each sentence. Step 2 presentation 1. Show a picture and a time of the past, ask them to try to make a conversation by using “was/ were + doing”. A: What were you doing at 7:00 last night? B: I was playing the violin.2. Show more pictures to practice like this.3. Look at the picture on Page 33 and think about what has happened. Teach the new word ”rainstorm”.Pay attention to the time phrases. Then match the statement with the people in the picture.4. Listening: Listen to the TV reporter and circle the correct responses.Step 3 Practice 1. Try to tell the story by using “was/ were +doing” (Fill in the blanks)2. Students try to tell the story without looking at the books , just the pictures.3. Show some other four pictures, ask some more students to tell the story of what my family were doing at the time of rainstorm. They need to change peoples activities.Step 4. Listening Listen and number the pictures 1-5, then listen again to fill in the blanks in the sentences in 2a.Step 5. PairworkWork in pairs. One is the boy, the other is a TV reporter, use the information in 2a to retell the story in a conversation.Step 6. Role-play the conversation.1.Go over the conversation in 2d, and deal with the difficulties in groups.2. Read aloud the conversation in pairs3. Act out their conversations in groups, then in class.Step 7. Homework1. Remember the words and phrases in this lesson.2.
