Why dont you talk to your parents?Section A 1a-2c郑州龙门实验学校牧歌教材来源: 人民教育出版社新目标 八年级下册课时: 共6课时,第1课时课型: 听说课学习主体: 八年级学生一、 学习目标1. 知识目标: 通过对图片的讨论和课文的学习,学生会正确表述自己在学习、生活和人际交往中常见的问题。 通过听力和对话练习,学生会正确使用Why not/dont you do sth.? / You should/could do sth.来进行完整的对话,互相询问和描述问题并给出建议。2. 能力目标熟练使用目标语言进行小组讨论,针对预设的学生生活中各种常见问题提出合理的建议。3. 情感态度价值观目标在谈论问题和提出建议的过程中,让学生明白生活中的问题并不可怕,重要的是学会面对问题,并想办法尽力解决问题;同时也让学生学会关心他人,明白与人沟通的重要性。二、 学习重难点能够正确描述自己在学习、生活和人际交往中常见的问题,并正确使用目标句型提出合理建议。三、 学习过程Step 1. Lead-in1. Enjoy a song “trouble is a friend” before class. Explain that trouble and problems are normal in our life.2. Show them a mailbox and let them know if they have problems, they can write to ask for advice.3. Let the students learn the learning goals.设计意图:通过歌曲和信箱让学生了解生活中的麻烦和问题是常态,并且鼓励他们寻求帮助。在导入本节课的话题problems and advice的同时,也让学生更容易理解本课时的学习目标。Step 2. Presentation1. Show some pictures and ask“Whats wrong with the boy/girl?” Ask the students to talk about the pictures, then learn the problems in 1a. I have to study too much so I dont get enough sleep.I have too much homework so I dont have any free time to do things I like.My parents dont allow me to hang out with my friends.I have too many after-school classes.I got into a fight with my best friend.2. Read the sentences aloud and try to remember the phrases in 1a.设计意图:通过对图片的讨论,让学生尝试描述所见问题,并以信箱中简短便条的形式带领学生学习1a中常见问题的表达。Step 3. Listening1. Listen to 1b and circle the problems you hear in 1a.2. Listen again and fill in the blanks. Then read the advice.(P=Problem A=Advice)P: I studied until midnight last night so I didnt get enough sleep.A: Why dont you (1). go to sleep earlier tonight? You can (2). start studying earlier.P: But I have two after-school classes today. So I can only start studying after dinner.A: Maybe you should (3). tell your parents that you cant do so many things.P: But they think its important that I take more after-school classes. They want me to get into a good senior high school.A: You should (4). talk to them again. Explain to them that you need to get enough sleep to stay healthy.3. Listen to 2a. Peters friend is giving him advice. Fill in the blanks with could or should.4. Listen again and finish 2b. Why doesnt Peter like his friends advice? Write the letters (a-e) next to the advice in 2a.设计意图:听力1b是对1a问题描述的检测,之后使用1b听力材料让学生进行提建议短语的填空,同时以“问题建议”的形式向学生展示提建议的句型“Why dont you? You should/can”听力2a和2b是对“could/should”句型的强化练习。在提高学生听力水平、积累听力方法的同时,也为后面的对话活动和小组讨论提供了语言材料的输入。Step 4. Pair workAsk about your partners problem and give him/her some advice.E.g. A: You lookWhats wrong/the matter?B: I A: Why not/dont you +v.? /Maybe you should/could +v.B: Thats a good idea! Thanks a lot.A: No problem.设计意图:本环节让学生活用听力材料中输入的对话框架,针对学生自己生活中的各种常见问题进行对话。在贴近学生生活的同时,既练习本节课的重点句型,又锻炼了学生的口语表达能力。Step 5. Group workTake out 10 letters from the mailbox, each group choose one letter. Talk about the letter you get, and try to give as much advice as you can.E.g. S1: Read the letter to the class.S2: I think she/he should _.S3: Maybe she/he could also_.S4: Whats more, why doesnt she/he_?S1: And why not_?The others: Listen and count.设计意图:在本节课导入和展示环节使用过的信箱中,预设十封简短的学生来信,信上是学生生活中常见的问题,包括同学之间的人际关系、家庭关系、学习压力、学习方法甚至是服装穿着、追星等方面。每个小组随机抽取一封信,对信上内容进行讨论并提出建议。在练习口语、培养小组合作习惯的同时,也对本节课的重点句型提建议的句型进行深入练习。同时在小组展示的环节安排其余学生数建议的条数,确保所有的学生都集中注意力。Step 6. Exercise and summy Exercise: Choose the right sentences to complete the conversation.A:You look worried. (1). CWhats wrong with you?B:My parents always want me to be No.1.A:(2). EWhy dont you talk to them? Tell them its not easy.B:But its difficult to talk with them.A:(3). BMaybe you should try to write a letter to them.B:Its not easy. Im not good at writing letters.A:(4). AAnd you can also ask our teachers for help.B:Sounds good. (5). DThanks for your advice.A:Youre welcome.2. Thanks a lot.A: No problem.设计意图:通过补全对话练习和板书总结,对本节课主要学习内容进行检测和整理归纳,进一步突出重点。Step 7. Teachers advice for studentsLife is colorful. Whatever problems you meet, whenever you meet them, dont be afraid. Believe that you can do anything/ if you try your best, and believe that there will always be someone/ who loves you/ and wants to help you out.设计意图:让学生明白生活中的困难不可怕,应该尽力解决问题并学会与他人沟通。Step 8.
