Develope the students listening and speaking ability. Teaching Main Points:1. Master some phrases and Present Progressive Tense2. Improve the students listening and speaking ability Teaching Difficult Points:1. Phrases: watching TV, cleaning, reading a newspaper, talking on the phone, listening to a CD, using the computer, making soup, washing the dishes, exercising, dancing, getting up, running, swimming, shopping2. Present Progressive Tense:Im watching TV.3. Teaching Methods:1. Task-based method. 2.Group work. 3.Pair work. Teaching Aids:The blackboard, PPT, The tape. Teaching Procedures: Procedures Contents Step 1 Greeting T and Ss. greet each other Step 2Lead-in Give a picture and ask “what is he doing?” to lead in the topic Step 3Phrases 1.Present the phrases: watching TV, cleaning, reading a newspaper,talking on the phone, listening to a CD, using the computer,making soup,washing the dishes, exercising, dancing, getting up,running,swimming,shopping2.Translate the verbs to ing form3.Do 1a Step 4Sentences (present progressive tense)1. Use the pictures of 1a to lead in the present progressive tense.2. Talk about “What is/are sb. doing?” “Sb. is/are doing sth.”3.Play a gussing game. T asks a student to act and the other one guess what he/she is doing. Step 5 Listen1.Listen to the radio for the first time and do 1b.2.Listen to the radio for the second time and fill the blanks.3. Listen to the radio for the third time and tell what they are doing. Step 6Pair work1. Ask and answer questions about what people are doing in 1a.(1c)2. Give a picture of Davids family and ask students to tell what Davids family are doing. Step 7 Exercise1.Get v-ing exercises2.Translate Chinese into English Step 8 Emotion-educationTell students “what we are doing now will decide our future!” Step 9 HomeworkTell students to bring a photo of their family and introduce it to their friends: What are their family doing?
