Brian Cannon: Ext 306Any concerns or suggestions regarding the Fire Regulations should be brought to his attention. First Aid Under the terms of the Health and Safely (First Aid) Regulations 1981 Oasis Travel Agency has designated First Aiders who will assist in the event of accident or illness. They are: Alana Matthewson: Ext 145Joe March: Ext 206First Aid boxes are located in Reception (Ground Floor) and in the Medical Room (Upper Floor). An accident book is kept in the General Office. Any accidents or injuries requiring first aid should be record in this.StressOasis Travel Agency Acknowledges that occupational stress is a major health and safety concern in todays workplace. Therefore the company will strive to address any causes of stress identified by employees. Stress Management courses are run on a regular basis and staff are encouraged to attend. Details are available from Personnel Department. We actively encourage “coping”. Strategies in the alleviation of stress.Display screen user trainingUnder the terms of the Display Screen Equipment Regulations (1992) Oasis Travel Agency will ensure that appropriate protection for display screen equipment users is provide. To further facilitate this, display screen user equipment training courses are available and recommended for all designated VDU users. Details of courses are available from Personnel Department.Non-smoking policyOasis Travel Agency believes that the working environment should be safe and healthy. It has been recognized that smoking and breathing in other peoples smoke is dangerous to health. Therefore a non-smoking policy has been adopted by the company. In order to facilitate this and to promote health within the workplace Smoking Cessation course are run on a regular basis. Details are available from Personnel Department. Section 4Sickness Absence Reporting Procedure The following procedure should be fallowed if you are unable to attend work:1. On the first day or sickness absence you, or someone on behalf , should contact your manager. You should indicate the likely duration or your absence and also give any further information required regarding cover for your duties, (meetings etc.). This notification should be no later than one hour from your required starting time. 2. If you return to work after 1-3 days request from personnel a self-certification from.3. If your absence continues to a further day contact your manager and advise the likely duration or your absence.4. If returning to work after 4, 5, 6 or 7 days absence you should obtain and complete a self-certification form.5. For any absence over 7 days obtain a medical certification form you should your doctor. This should be sent immediately to your manager. Further medical cover continued absence.NOTE: All seven days or the weak count when concluding sickness absence.SICK PAYStatutory sick pay Entitlement Guidelines and Regulation are available from the Personnel Department.OTHER ABSENCES Special (Unanticipated) leaveOasis Travel Agency realizes that leave may be required due to family issues, such as illness of dependents and bereavement. Your manager should be notified as soon as possible of your absence. Jury DutyFuneralsHospital AppointmentsPlease notify your manager as soon as possible of you absence.Guidelines and policies regarding time off are available from personnel department Maternity | Paternity leaveDerails regarding statutory and non-statutory maternity and paternity nights are available from the personnel department.LEAVE ARRANGEMENTSThe leave year is 1 Jan to 31 Dec. Leave entitlement with pay is 20 working days, increasing to 25 working days after 5 years service.Requests for annual leave must always be agreed in advance with your manager.In addition to the above, employees are entitled to a total of twelve public holidays. Seven of these are foxed days and the remaining 5 days can be taken flexibly during the year. Requests for such days should be submitted in the same way as for annual leave.Special leave (see other absence)Job Share | Flexible Working OptionsOasis Travel Agency will consider any requests for job sharing and flexible working conditions. Each request will be considered on its own available from the Personnel Department.Section 5SRESS CODEOasis Travel Agency staff should present a smart and professional image to the public at all times. The wearing of jeans or loggings is not considered suitable and dresses, skirts and trousers should be tailored and worn with an appropriated blouse of collar and tie.Footwear should be businesslike, and trainers are not permitted, Fewellery is acceptable but staff should exercise discretion and common sense in this matter.To further promote a professional and corporate image staff are encouraged to wear shorts, ties or blouses beating the companys logo. These items can be ordered through the Personnel Department and are of a high quality and competitively priced. An order form can be found at the back of this booker.Email/Internet PolicyEmail and the Internet are provided to staff to enhance business communication. Staff are also permitted to use the internet to access relevant information in the course of work or staff development.The following uses of the internet are not permitted:1 Access and use if chat rooms2 Downloading unauthorized games images or screensavers3 Downloading and/or circulating obscene material4 Use of personal softwareA copy of the complete internet and Email policy is available from the Personnel Department.Nursery, Crche and Out of School Care FacilitiesOasis Travel Agency are keen to afford parents or young children opportunities to return to the workplace. To this end, links have been established with local nurseries, crches and out of school care clubs.
