Unit 3 Could you please clean your room?Period 1教学目标:l 学习如何提出委婉请求。l 理解并能运用 “make”与“do”l 能够谈论喜欢或厌恶做家务并说明理由。教学重、难点:1.重点。1)学习一些常用的动词短语。2)委婉地提出请求做某事。Could you please do sth? Yes, Sure. / Yes, I can./ Of course./ CertainlySorry, I cant. I have to do/ Im doing2难点。在实际的生活中委婉地表达自己的请求。情感目标:通过本节课的学习,学生能够体会父母的辛苦,并有意识地主动在家帮助父母做一些家务。Teaching Procedures: Warming up1. Guess : What does Ms Lin do at home? Usually: Mark the exam papers , Prepare lessons. Sometimes: Help her son with his study , Cook for her family , Wash the dishes , Sweep the floor. Question: What do you usually do at home? Do you help your parents do housework at home?2. Group work: Play a guessing game to present some verb phrases the students will learn in this unit. T: Look at the pictures on the screen. Work in your study groups, Discuss what the people are doing in each picture. 3. Read the phrases under each picture together. * wash the clothes = do the laundry wash the dishes = do the dishes4. Introduce Tan Qingqing, an 8-year-old girl from Qijiang, Chengnan Primary School. Presentation1. T: What do you think of Tan Qingqing? (A loving/ great/brave girl. ) What makes such a little girl be able to do so many things at home? (Loves her father very much.)Do you often help your parents do housework? Do you love your parents? Of course we do. Then lets help do the chores from now on.2. Present: 1) If you are free, and your mother asks:- Could you please do the laundry / mop the floor? - Yes, sure. / Of course. / OK. / All right. 2) If you are busy, and your mother asks:- Could you please do the dishes / clean the room? - Sorry, I cant. I have to do homework. / Im studying for a test.3. Summary : Compare three sentences to learn to make polite request. (Discussion) Sentence 1: Sweep the floor, Peter. Sentence 2: Can you sweep the floor, Peter? Sentence 3: Could you please sweep the floor, Peter? T: Which sentence is the most polite? Why?4. Oral practice: Work in groups to make polite requests one by one. Listening test 1b Listen and check out kinds of chores Peter and his mother do. Pair work : Discuss why you like or hate doing chores. Fill in the blanks with “make” or “do”.1. Pay attention to the differences between these two words.2. Revise the phrases of “make” and “do”. (Translation.)3. Explain the usages of “hate”. Survey (Group Work) Find out : 1. How many of your group members do chores at home? 2. How often do they do chores? 3. What chores do they often do? Do they like to do them? Why or why not? 4. When do they usually do chores? A short report about one of your group members. Summary: No matter whether we like or hate doing chores, we should try our best to do what we can to help our parents ! Watch a short movie about “Family”.教学反思:本节课的成功之处:1、对本堂课的重点句型短语训练的较为透彻。本节课的重点是句型Could you please? 及其回答,通过引入、听力、讨论对目标语言进行了充分的训练与强化。2、话题导入自然,注重各部分重点之间的内在联系,并能合理过渡。本节课的话题是如何有礼貌地请求别人的帮助,我先让学生猜测我本人在家常做的事情,和有时做的事情,然后过渡到一个8岁的小女孩 - 谭清清的故事,再由她的故事导入问题:谭清清对爸爸的深深的爱使她弱小的肩膀承担起了家庭的重担。那么,同学们爱自己的父母,所以,当父母提出做家务的要求时:Could you please? 根据情况作出不同回答:Yes, sure. / Of course. / Certainly. / No problem. 或 Sorry, I cant. I have to / Im V- ing。3、采取多种教学方式(游戏、结对活动、小组讨论等)充分调动学生学习热情,积极参与课堂活动,引导学生进行自主学习和讨论。4、注重教学中的德育渗透。本节课是一堂学科育德课,在整个教学过程中我十分注意将教学内容与德育教育进行结合。本节课的教学内容是谈论家务,话题贴近生活。我在教学设计中特地引入了谭清清的故事,和“Family”的广告片,一方面便于对话题的引入,另一方面通过让学生了解谭清清的故事,观看广告,有意识地培养学生热爱劳动,主动帮父母做家务的品质。本节课需要注意的地方:1、 由于课堂活动设计较多,学生进行操练后展示时间较短,有的积极性较高的学生未能得到充分展示
