When You Feel Lonely -After reading The Life and Strange Surprising Adventures of Robinson CrusoeA famous philosopher once said that a man cannot be successful until he defeats the loneliness.If I couldnt understand this sentence very well before reading a story-The Life and Strange Surprising Adventures of Robinson Crusoe,now I compeletely comprehend it when I have finished it.The story tells about a strong minded man called Robinson and what happens to him in 28 years of his life. When Robinson was young, he was fond of sailing and adventure. He travelled three times to South Africa. These trips were all dangerous. In the last sailing, all sailors died except Robinson. He lived alone on a strange wild island without anything what necessary for living.Nobody can deny it is a miracle that Robinsons 28 yearsliving on a wild island.How long the time is!Some may appreciate his courage;some may think highly of his never giving up;and some may admire his optimism.However,I am totally surprised and moved how Robinson got so well along with solitude.There was not a person,even a creature in the uninhabited place;there was no one could help him to build house,to find food,even to hear his complaint.The only one he could talk with was the God.”I had great reason to consider it as a determination of heaven,that in this desolate place,and in this desolate manner I should end my life.”Why Providence should thus completely ruin its creatures,and render them so absolutely miserable,so without help abandoned,so entirely depressed,that it could hardly be rational to be thankful for such a life.”At the beginning,when I read the words like the above,I wonder whether Robinson would commit suicide or not.Then when I continued my reading,I suddenly realized it was the way Robinson dealt with his loneliness-to talk to The God.After the moment he finished his grumbling,he tried his best to persuade himself to live on bravely.”But something always returned swift upon me to check these thoughts,and to reprove me;and particularly one day walking with my gun in my hand by the sea-side,I was very pensive upon the subject of my present condition,when reason as it were expotulated with me the other way,thus:Well,you are in a desolate condition,this is true,but pray remember,where are the rest of you?Did not you come eleven of you into the boat,where are the ten?Why were not they saved and you lost?Why were you singled out?Is it better to be here or there,and then I pointed to the sea?All evils are to be considered with the dood that is in them,and with what worse attends them.” That was how Robinson convinced himself of overcoming all the difficulties in order to survive.So in my opinion,the most precious character of him is that he could use his optimism,persistence and courage to defeat the boundless loneliness during the dreadul 28 years.That is to say, the key to Robinsons survive and was back to his hometown at last was that he won over the lo
