Unit 6 Im watching TV.Section A (1a-2c)Teaching aims: 1. Language knowledge goal :1) Remember new vocabularies and phrases: newspapers, use, soup, wash, watch TV, talk on the phone, and wash the dishes. 2)Master sentences blow: What are you doing? Im watching TV. Whats he/she doing? Hes/Shes using the computer. What are they doing? Theyre listening to a CD. 3) Grammar:Present progressive tense4) Talk about what people are doing.2. Emotion aims: To make Ss build interest of learning English, and discover what they are doing in their daily life. Willing to attend activates and cultivate cooperational spirit. Teaching key and difficult points: 1. Key points:1) Usage of words and phrases in present progressive tense2) Simple actions with present progressive tense: cleaning, talking on the phone, watching TV, and making soup 2. Difficult points: Describe what they are doing in their communications correctly. Sb + am/is/are/ +V.ing(现在分词) Teaching procedure:Step. Warming-up 1. Greet the Ss and free talk with Ss 2. Watch a video program. Step. Presentation1. Lets enjoy a chant! 2. Let several Ss do some actions and lead out the question sentences: T: What is he/she doing? S: He/She is swimming/dancing/ 3. Show some pictures on the screen and ask some students to perform the actions. e.g. T: What are you doing? S: I am swimming. (Help him/her to answer) T: What is he /she doing? Ss: He /she is swimming. Teach: reading a newspaper, making soup, watching TV, cleaning, talking on the phone.as the same way. 4. Give Ss some time and try to remember the new words and expressions. 5. Work on 1a. Ss read the activities and look at the pictures. Then match the activities with pictures. 6. Check the answers with Ss. Listening 1. T: What are Jenny, John, Dave and Mary doing? Now lets listen to the tape, find out the right activities from 1a. 2. Play the recording for the Ss twice.3. Ss listen to the recording and write the numbers from 1a. Pair work (1c) 1. Ask the Ss to read the conversations in 1c with a partner. Then look at the pictures in 1a. And make conversations about other person in the picture.2. Ss make conversations by themselves and practice the conversations. Listening 1. Work on 2a; 2. Work on 2b.Step Practice.1. Now, role-play the conversation with your partners.2. Let some pairs to act out the conversation in front of the class.3. Some exercises shown on the screen. Step Role-play the conversation in 2b.(2c)Step Homework1. Find a photo of your family or friends and write about what they are doing with using the present progressive tense.2.
